Honey licked her golden tabby pelt. A purr of amusement was heard. Honey hissed.
"Ah, look. The pretty she-cat makes herself shine. Are you mooning over some cat?" Sneered a familiar voice.
"I hate you! Now leave this place, Scar!" Honey spat.
"No way, Honey!" jeered Scar. The light grey tom laughed at her.
"Get. Away." She growled slowly.
"No."
"You're not welcome!" Honey lunged at him, aiming at his belly.
"Neither are you!" Scar yowled, raking claws across her fur.
"Leave." snarled Honey through a mouthful of grey fur. Scar screeched in pain before pouncing at her neck. She twisted, scraping the ground. Scar missed her and tripped onto the dust.
"Ha!" Honey snapped. Scar roared, biting into her pelt. She screamed in pain. A white tom padded over with a blue collar around his neck.
"What's this for?" He gasped, looking around at the blood with his gentle yellow eyes. Scarlett trails trickled down the hill, sending ruby liquid splashing into the pond.
"None of your kittypet business!" Scar howled.
"Why, that's quite rude." The kittypet protested.
"What's your name, kittypet fool?" Scar asked.
"Jack. What's yours?"
"Scar!" Scar grinned cruelly. "Now Jack, this is going to hurt."
Honey gave a horrified cry as he pounced.
Darkness swarmed over Honey's vision. Then slowly, a dark grey blur swam dizzily around.
"Scar?" Her voice quavered.
"Who?" Came a confused mutter from the grey lump.
"Who are you?" Honey asked.
"My name is Shadow. What's yours?"
"Honey." Her voice muffled from a clump of white fur. "Jack?"
"Who?"
"The white tom over there!"
"You know him?"
"No, I just met him, but..."
"But what?"
"He's a kittypet, and Scar, he attacked both of us, but," Honey gazed around fo a second and something injected in her mind. "HOW'D WE GET HERE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"
"I...uh, brought you here. It's my den. Cozy, don't you think?"
"Hmmmm."
"Now, you need to rest." Shadow insisted before Honey blacked out again, not knowing that Scar was hiding, somewhere near, only feeling a strange familiarity with Shadow...
