I'll do brainstorms, outlines, descriptive paragraphs, anything and everything I can manage before something (like sleeping :P) forces me to stop. Getting as much as I can on paper helps me refine that thought and remember why it appealed to me when I come back to my writing later.

The problem with that is that my inspiration hits me just as I'm waking up usually on a school day, so I literally have no time to do anything apart from get ready to get to school. Otherwise I would.

Wow. Any help to cure my syndrom? I have like a four books non-finished right now, and I keep getting writer's block everytime I go to write one. Then I forget about it and sort of abandon it. :| Yep, anything to say?

This happens to me all the time, just force yourself to focus on your favorite. If you start thinking about your other books, then you could write down whatever you're thinking of for that one then continue with your favorite :3

I get ideas at weird times as well, but I can usually find time to write stuff down :) . I keep a little steno book with me so that I can at least outline my ideas If I don't have time to actually sit down and write. There are tons of little references and sketches written down in the margins, so that I can recover as much of my original idea as possible when I actually have time to write about it.

Do you ride a bus to school? Even though it can be harder to write stuff down in the cold/hot/noisy/moving bus, but sometimes I can get down a little brain dump of whatever I'm thinking of at the time. Random adjectives and phrases can be more useful than full sentences when you're trying to recall a sensation.

@Sky: If I were you, I would narrow it down to a single main project. That doesn't mean to get rid of your other Ideas, but your writing will most likely appear significantly better if you only have one project to work on at a time. To keep you mind fresh and the new ideas flowing, you might want to take a break every couple weeks to write for one of you other books, but try to focus on one of them until it's 100% finished.

You could try coffee. Really good coffee. I always get a writing flash after drinking it o_O Even cappuccino, if it's strong.
But that's me. It's worth a shot, though :3
My last writing flash after a cappuccino lasted two days straight (and a bit more xD). I wrote about 6,000 words. On the third day, I still needed to write in the morning. It only left me slowly around noon *lol*

But then again, I can only write every day if I really like the story and the characters. If my heart's not in it, sooner or later, I'm either gonna abandon it or it turns out to be only half as good as I am able to write.

I must agree to only write on one project at a time. It's making you focus much better on it and you're not mixing up ideas. But sometimes, it's also good to write on two projects at the same time. Like, you write your main project during the week, and on the weekends you write the second one. Sometimes I like my main project, but I like that other one SO much more... and if I don't write at least a little on the second one, the first one gets more boring every day.
Currently, I'm writing on three projects at the same time. One isn't going too well, but I promised to finish it, and I think I will soon. I'm over 10k words into it (but it took me a year x_X), and I plan on finishing it so that I can FINALLY move on. The other two are going pretty smoothly.
I'm still in love with my Tactics fanfiction, so I'm always thrilled when I'm writing it. The other one is a Pokemon story, a request by two friends (I'm lucky they like the same kind of story there that I do) ^^

After those, I already have another story in mind that I want to write, which will be approximately 10k words long. And after that, I'll try to write a novel-length fantasy story. But those I want to write in order xD

My main project is a novel-length fantasy/sci-fi/realistic fiction. (More Fantasy/Sci-fi, but I've researched it so thoroughly that most of the plot elements will hold water, scientifically speaking :) ) Anyways, It's been in the works for a very long time, and I've temporarily sidelined it to work on things that will progress a bit faster.

Two of the side projects that I've been working on in the last couple weeks are a Spanish thriller that I'm turning into a play, and a psychological horror screenplay that's turned into my current project. I should have the movie done in a couple weeks, so that I can revise it in time to film it in the 2nd semester with the Student Film Club at my school.

I've just come up with a story but I have no idea how it's going to end. There's details I can't really talk about because it would ruin the suspense and make about half the story void, but I think I might be able to work on it. Does anyone want to read the beggining bit? I might make a thread for the story.

Oh.
My.
Gosh.

I've just come up with an amazing, creative, original, complete plot for NaNoWrimo.

I have so much muse in general right now, and I have even more for my novel for NaNoWrimo. But it's in November ;A;

The inspiration fairy sure is busy.

I find I get inspiration when I'm reading something and something they'll say will make me think "Cool. I'll make a character with extra toes and fingers." from something completely random like this guy by accident chopped a finger off. (I've never actually thought that and I've never read about a guy having his fingers chopped up, but it's an example.).
