"I accept." I replied. Lezri gave a cold smile, and the floating holographic image of the vial solidified and dropped into her hand. She passed it over to me, and I clasped it gingerly. These would be my last few moments of humanity and awareness of the mortal world for a year. Did I really want to do this? Yes, I did. I really did. The temptation had become too great, and I pressed my lips to the top of the vile. The glass was cold, cold as ice. It felt the same as the cold pressure on my neck before, and I wondered if Lezri or Tonir had done that to me. I leaned my head back, closed my eyes...
I felt the cold liquid rush through me with my eyes still closed. It slid smoothly down my throat, and I felt it disperse throughout my body. Suddenly, I felt my heart lurch. I collapsed. A moment before I blacked out, I heard the two of them talking. "Foolish girl." Lezri snarled. "The council will be displeased with her work, won't they Tonir?" "Yes, very displeased." Tonir chuckled. "Very displeased." Then I slipped into the murky blackness of a lost year.

Don't want to post but having trouble finishing a story? Here's my method:

Sorry; I'm quite ridiculous when it comes to grammar. Other than that minor slip-up, that's a good hook for your story.
I'm a writer myself (of course, otherwise I wouldn't bother to post let alone bookmark this) and I also suffer 'unfinished story syndrome'. Haha, what an acronym. Anyway, I have four, maybe five, unfinished works right now. I keep thinking of new ideas... I have a feeling most young authors have this problem. What do you think?
I just wanted to qoute this, even thought it is from the starting of this thread, because I just wanted to say how this really relates to me. I have a binder that I started almost seven years ago with around thirty stories that I have never finished.
Does anyone have any good ideas on how to stick with one story adn actually finish it?
I write unusually fast, and I read even faster. Think of the fstest reader you know.
I can read fasterand I can not help it either, which isn't a good thing since people get mad at me
So if anyone has any ideas on how to cure "unfinished story syndrome" please tell me!
THE CURE:
-Step 1: Delete all the stories you know have no potential or you know you can't finish them.
-Step 2: Read over the ones you have left. Repeat step 1. If this is hard for you, if you wrote some of them a long time ago and still haven't re-started, then you should probably delete it. They are most likely dead. Still don't have the heart to delete it? Try re-reading it again and see if you can give it a new twist. Then decide.
-Step 3: Repeat steps 1 & 2 until you have about three stories you think have potential.
-Step 4: What I did next was choose one of the last three stories and continue writing them. Then I'll only have the stories with the most potential so I can continue making them better and better without having to pick and choose which ones to make better, distracting me from the writing itself.
