This is a story about Forbidden Love, Banishment, Betrayal, Mystery, and Survival.
A small pack known as Moon Pack live peaceful lives, that is until the leader's daughter has pups with a lone wolf, the pups are given to the pack wolf, Blossom, but when they get older who knows what kind of secrets will be revealed!

Meet The Wolves

Leader:

Rock - big blue/gray and white wolf with blue eyes

Alphas(Leader's family):

Dust - tan and creamy white she wolf with green eyes - Leader's Mate

Moon - blue/gray and white she wolf with blue eyes - Leader's daughter

Bark - tan and creamy white wolf with green eyes - Leader's son

Beta:

Cotton - fluffy white she wolf with bright blue eyes - she may seem soft and gentle but you don't want to get on her bad side

Healers:

Haze - pale tan she wolf with gray ears, neck, tail, and white paws with purple eyes - full healer and leader's daughter

Flower - light Brown and white she wolf with green eyes - healer in training

Fighters:

Mist - light gray she wolf with black & white markings and silver eyes - Cotton's sister

Fire - dark red and white she wolf with blue eyes - best hunter in the pack

Rose - dark brown she wolf with a black paw and amber eyes - there's something off about her

Stone - white wolf with gray markings and brown eyes - one of the most intelligent wolves

Thunder & Lightning - silver wolves one with blue eyes and the other with green - the twins (Thunder's the dumb one)

Thorn - orange and white wolf with blue eyes - brother of, Light and, Daisy

Light - yellow she wolf with green eyes - sister of, Thorn and, Daisy

Daisy - orange/yellow she wolf with silver eyes - sister of, Thorn and, Light

Mothers:

Blossom - tan she wolf with brown markings and brown eyes - sister of, Dust

Pups:

Blue - blue/gray and white she wolf with blue eyes - Moon's pup
Mud - tan wolf with blue eyes - Moon's pup
Sky - light blue/gray and white she wolf with silver eyes - Moon's pup

Outsiders:

Mud - tan wolf with a brown spot on his shoulder and silver eyes - Moon's mate

Beauty - dusty gray she wolf with darker gray markings and amber eyes - lone wolf just outside territory
Night - dark gray and black she wolf with brown eyes - Beauty's pup
Crystal - tan and white she wolf with blue eyes - the pup that, Beauty found

Chapter 1
Forbidden Love

Moon waded across the stream as she made her way to the boundary pool, the icy water pulled at her fur and made her shiver to the cold, she stepped out of the water and shook herself nearly dry, she walked across the last stretch of forest before it opened up around the still pool where, Mud waited for her.
"Hey!" he yelped happily as she entered the clearing.
"You should have waited in the bushes in case another wolf came." she said worriedly.
"Oh well, I'm fine anyway." he rolled his eyes in annoyance at her worry.
"I have something important to tell you." she said urgently.
"Oh no, your pack found out about me, didn't they?" he began to panic a little.
"No, no, they haven't... yet... but anyway... I'm expecting your pups." she said so seriously that, Mud sat down.
"That's great news!" he yapped happily jumping to his paws.
"Not really, what am i going to tell them if they want to know who the father is?" She whined fearfully.
"Your not required to tell them, are you?"
"Well no, but they'll still ask!"
"Find a wolf who wont mind keeping our secret?"
"No such wolf."
"Is there a wolf who recently died?"
"That's brilliant!" She leaped to her paws, licked his face, and ran back to the camp.



The moon was bright in the dark sky as, Moon crept out into the clearing around the pool, the scent of blood hit her like a wave and she felt her heart nearly stop with fear.
"Mud, Mud, Mud?" she called soft but desperately, in reply there was the sound of splashing and frantic whimpering, she crept to the edge of the small slope that lead down to the pool, there in the water was, Mud, he was splashing around in the water trying to keep his head up, blood clouded the water around him, there were signs of a struggle near the waters edge, Moon leaped in to the icy water, her heart racing as she tried to drag him back to dry land, her teeth clamped tightly on his scruff as she pulled with all her strength, she breathed deeply as she hauled his motionless body out of the water, she nudged and whined but she was to late to save him, suddenly she felt contractions, the pups had picked the worst time ever to be born.
"No, no, no, no, no." she backed up slowly and collapsed on her side, she howled for help, she let out the most pained, fearful, laud howl that she could as the forest seemed to spin around her, she knew she wouldn't make it, she had already used up enough strength in her failed rescue mission, warm tears filled her eyes as she let out one more howl, the last howl she had strength for.



Haze woke to the sound of a familiar yet distressed howl, she knew exactly who it was but it didn't sound at all good, she saw that, Flower had already been awakened by, Moon's howling and they quickly gathered the herbs that they thought they would need. As they stepped into the clearing they saw that the whole pack was awake, they all seemed rather alarmed by the howling, but none as alarmed as, Rock, or Dust.
"Everyone stay here, me and, Flower will handle this!" Haze called with a meaningful glance towards, Rock, and Dust who seemed annoyed to have to stay behind.
Haze lead, Flower through the trees towards the howling, they were early there when they heard a last feeble howl, Haze could sense that, Moon was nearly done for as they entered the clearing, the sight was a shock, Moon lay near the lifeless body of a lone wolf, her breath was uneven and labored as she tried her best to keep alive as long as possible, but not for herself, for the pups who were on their way.



Haze had done all she could, Moon had given birth to four pups, a she pup that looked like her mother, a he pup that looked like the lone wolf who lay lifeless nearby, a blue/gray she pup with silver eyes, and a tan she pup with blue eyes who didn't survive, Moon herself passed away after breathlessly giving them names.
The surviving pups were to be raised by Blossom who had recently lost her own pups.

Chapter 2

Awake, Alive, and Alone

There was nothing but blackness in front of, Blue's eyes, but she wanted to see the world, she wanted to see her siblings, her mother, the other wolves standing around, she wanted to know what the world was like behind the blackness, it was all she knew in the way of sight and she wanted to discover what the world was like in appearance, not just scent and taste, she started whimpering in aggravation as her eyes refused to open, she started to figure out how the muscles in her eyelids worked, slowly she opened her eyes, the world was strange and bright, she blinked at it as if it was only her imagination, before she had never been able to even imagine the colors and textures of the world around her, but now she could see them, looking up she saw the faces of wolves as the smiled down it her.
"Hello there, Blue." said the pale tan wolf, Blue recognized her by scent and voice, this wolf was called, Haze, and she would visit often.
"Hello." Blue said awkwardly with her head tilted slightly the side, looking around she saw her brother and sister beside her, Sky had already opened her eyes, but, Mud was still trying to open his.



Beauty had never wandered this close to pack territory before but she wasn't about to give up on her search for food, as she crossed the border she could smell a faint death smell, she wandered into a clearing around a pool of water, three wolves lay still on the ground, upon investigation she found that the male had been browned but yet he had claw marks on him, and the female had died having pups. This must have happened last night considering that they don't smell strongly of death and the pack hasn't moved them yet. she thought, she turned sadly to the pup and pressed her nose to its tiny side, it always saddened her to see passed pups, suddenly she took a leap back, she had felt a heartbeat, she inched closer and checked to see if she had imagined it, but there it was, a small heartbeat. This one was probably checked on by a healer in training. she realized, quickly she picked up the tiny little thing and ran back across the border to where she lived with her own young pup, Night.

At her den the small pup began to stir, Night stared curiously at it, Beauty had decided to call her, Crystal, the poor thing lifted her small tan head and cried out for food, luckily, Night wasn't much older and, Beauty still had milk to feed them.

Another short chapter, I've been sick this week so i haven't been in much of a mood for writing.

Chapter 3
Family Issues

Rock stepped into the healers den which was warm but still had cool, breezy feeling to it, Flower and, Haze looked up from, Cotton's paw - which had a thorn in it.
"What is it?" Haze asked while padding up to him.
"We need to talk." it was clear in his eyes that he didn't like speaking to her.
"Um, okay... what about." Flower and, Cotton had turned their heads and were staring curiously at them.
"Not in front of the others." he said with a nod towards, Cotton and, Flower.
"Alright." She said uneasily. she lead him through a short tunnel in the back of the den to the place where she and, Flower sleep. They both fluffed up their coats unhappily against the cold, damp air. Rock soon realized how unfair he was being by refusing to have the fighters work on her den, but he refused to show it, he had been extremely disappointed when she told him that she wanted to be a healer and ever since he has refused to call her his daughter, Dust always says he's being unfair, but he still refused to accept, Haze's choice.
"Now, what is it you want to talk about." she growled in anger and annoyance.
"First off, I'm your leader, so show some respect!"
"Oh? What are you gonna do, exile me?" his only reply was a tense silence. "Exactly, who else could heal the pack or train, Flower to heal the pack."
"I need to speak with you about, Moon's death."
"That was a moon ago, why talk about it now?"
"Because i don't think i got the truth from you." she stiffened but passed it off as a stretch.
"I told you what it looked like, if there's something deeper there i wouldn't know because if there is, she told me as much as she told you." a lie, Moon herself told, Haze everything before her death. She remembered the scene well, blood soaked the sandy dirt around, Moon's dying body as she rushed to tell, Haze her story before she passed, she even came up with a clever lie, how did, Rock see through it, did she wear an almost masked, guilty expression as she told the lie?
"Oh really? Tell me everything you know." his voice grew dark and threatening, it was clear that he would take to drastic measures if he didn't believe her, so she hardened her face like stone and began.
"It seems that, Moon wanted to have a drink at Midnight pool when she met a rogue, they fought, and she won, but the battle exhausted her, then it came time for her and, Oak's pups to be born, she didn't have the energy to survive, so that's why we are talking now." her face never changed from its stone like expression as she told the lie.
"I feel like there's more to the story."
"If so, it died with them."
"Not necessarily. I need to go." he padded out of the den, clearly glad to be out of the cold.

Wow, long wait, sorry guys, NaNoWriMo is tiring, after it's over you don't really feel like writing much.

Chapter 4
New learners

"Blue, slow down!" Sky whimpered from behind, Blue.
"Ugh, your so slow!" Blue groaned as she skid to a halt. "Were almost to the top, pick up the pace!"
Blue, Sky and, Mud were making their way to the top of, Eagle's perch, a spire of rock that rose high into the sky, it was their first day of training and so they were to journey to the top of Eagle's perch and listen to their trainers drone on about their territory and the history of their pack, nothing interesting to a pup like, Blue, but she did want to see the amazing view that Eagle's perch offers.
As they reached the top, Blue gasped in amazement, she could see the whole territory and more, beyond their territory, Blue could see little specks moving around in a meadow. "What's that?" she asked.
"Those are lone wolves, if ever they wander into our territory in is the job of us fighters to get rid of them, whether it means killing them, or chasing them out." Thorn said, he had recently graduated his training and now trained, Mud, Rose was, Sky's trainer and, Lightning was, Blue's.

"Mother, why are we not allowed to go beyond the meadow?" Crystal asked as she skid to a halt beside, Beauty, Night running into her from behind.
"Because it's dangerous, there are lots of big, mean wolves who wouldn't hesitate to hurt you, they go hungry many nigths and only think of young pups as food." Beauty explained.
"You mean they eat pups?" Night asked in horror.
"EWW!" Crystal cried.
"It is ew isn't it, but not to them, to them it's survival." Beauty chuckled.
"I would rather die than eat a pup." Crystal said, gagging at the idea of it.
"Me too!" Night agreed.
"Well that's good to hear, but now you need to get back in the den while i go hunting, and no buts, if you don't stay inside the den those icky pup eaters will get you." Beauty nudged them toward the den, laughing with them, but there was still a serious edge to her voice.
Before entering the den, Crystal looked up, in the distance was a spire of rock that reached into the sky, at the top of the spire, Crystal could see little specks. "Mother, what's up there?" she asked, thinking about the pup eaters and afraid of being seen by the creatures above.
"Pack wolves, they take their new learners up there, they call it, Eagle's perch."
"What's a pack, what's a learner, and are they pup eaters?"
"A pack is a large group of wolves who hunt and fight together, a learner is a pack wolf your age who is learning how to hunt and fight, and no, they aren't pup eaters, but they aren't friendly to wolves like us either."
