From what I understand, the signature thread is because the discussion constantly came up and everyone kept reporting it and it was a mess. This isn't really a mess, it's just a discussion about writing female characters.

Okay fine but if it gets locked don't blame me. I am a fun person but I'm still here to enforce the rules on this topic.

I don't know if there is much more to say about this whole thing, or why it was even brought up. I'm still confused up to now about this entire thing. I don't know why we needed to discuss it, female-male, we may not have the same exact rights but does that really matter?

It's important to discuss because girls everywhere are tired of being told that they can't be in books because they're ""too complicated."" Also, the fact that women are treated as less than men is so so important to bring up, because it affects womens lives so much.

Welcome! Anyways, I just discussed it. It's important to discuss because it affects people so much, and since I"m sure a lot of people on this thread wish to be authors when they are older, its important for them to know that female characters are important.

You know I might sound pathetic but at the moment I can't think of a single book where a man is the main character...
I know female characters are still important, plus- if they are complicated doesn't that make a better read?

Harry Potter, the Shadow Children series, Looking for Alaska, Holes, Artemis Fowl, the Divergent books would count.

Also, women are complicated, yeah. It's almost like they're actual human beings with personalities that aren't one dimensional.

Oh yea! Harry potter! xD Anyway, since we seem to be asking a few questions, I'll ask one!

What do you do to get into the writing mood? Do you listen to hard rock or soft music, read over idea bubbles and think, etc.

I write on wordpad while listening to dubstep with my headphones and a snack on the side and a notepad full of ideas in front of me! Writings are at a random spur.

I haven't ever read any of those books, nor wanted to :/

Hmm. Shall we talk about something else? I think this topic is getting a bit old... we're basically jsut saying the same things over again in different ways.

I usually get my laptop, a notebook, and start to write random junk. I just listen to like hip hop music XD
