Hey there little red riding hood
You sure are looking good
You're everything a big bad wolf could want
I peeked over, pulling my grey wolf headed cloak over my head, there she was, my little red riding hood, her brilliant blue eyes flashed with sweet innocence, just like her mothers.
she had grown, so much in the few years, Her black hair tied into a pony tail that reached her waist.
She would be 13 now, suitors must already be lining up.
She skipped along, the falling sun setting behind the large old trees, animals where coming out soon.
She carried her basket, stopping every now and then to pick a flower, tie a ribbon around a few together and place it in the basket, a gift for grandma.
"Little red riding hood
I don't think little big girls should
Go walking in these spooky old woods alone"
I said, revealing my scraggly old self to her, smiling warmly. She slunk back a little, but a smile eased to her face. "hello, sir, you should't be out here alone ether, I head there is a man out here, called the wolf thief.
"You aren't him, right?" she asked, eyeing me with suspicious.
I wonder where she got that trait.
"well, I wouldn't say i'm a thief, what rumors have you heard?" i asked Red, still smiling at just the warmth of seeing her after so long. Her eyes widen and she swallowed.
"my mother told me so, she said the big bag wolf thief wondered around and stole peoples food and goodies."
"i assure you, i am no thief." i chuckled, My bright blue eyes sparkling.
i couldn't help but wonder about the lies the woman had told her about him.
"What big eyes you have
The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad
Just to see that you don't get chased
I think I oughta walk with you for a ways"
i worried a out her, she was growing so pretty, just like her mother. She was walking to late, the wild animals was out. if she would go out at this time of day with out a care, the people around the village could take advantage of her kindness.
"Sure, sir, my name is roury, what is ours?" she smiled so cheerily, it almost hurt to see that smile.
"My name is ardolph." I said, beginning to walk at her side, staring ahead, only stealing glances
What a sweet smile you have
They're sure to lure someone bad
So until you get to Grandma's place
I think you oughta walk with me and be safe
She was a spitting image of her mother, aside from her blue eyes, my blue eyes.
Some boys would be calling, I wish I could be there to stop it.
Gonna keep my sheep suit on
'Til I'm sure that you've been shown
That I can be trusted walking with you alone
Every one in this town kept her away from me, she was the elders pride and joy, the youngest in the village.
i was just a man from the rival village who hovered around.
Who marred the chiefs daughter and was blamed for her death.
Little red riding hood
I'd like to hold you if I could
But you might think I'm a big bad wolf so I won't
What a big heart I have
The better to love you with
Little red riding hood
Even bad wolves can be good
Maybe i was at fault for her death, if only i hadn't stayed, if only i hadn't marred her, she wouldn't have died.
I try to keep satisfied
Just to walk close by your side
Maybe you'll see things my way
'Fore we get to Grandma's place
"do you have a nice father?" I suddenly asked interrupting her talk of spring flowers and stupid boys she would throw rocks at for mocking her red hood.
"huh? oh no i don't have a father, my mother, said he died, loooong ago, from heart break, after..my mother died after having me.." her sweet smile turned sad, and she shrugged. "it isn't so bad, i have the whole village...but some say my father made this hood for me, sizes to big before i was even born."
"he must have known how much he'd love you."
Little red riding hood
I don't think little big girls should
Go walking in these spooky old woods alone
This brave little girl...
What big eyes you have
The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad
Just to see that you don't get chased
I think I oughta walk with you for a ways
This sweet little girl...
What a sweet smile you have
They're sure to lure someone bad
So until you get to Grandma's place
I think you oughta walk with me and be safe
My, Little red riding hood, my daughter.
