      That would be great.
But we'd have to make sure that all the links were appropriate to share -- as that can be hard to do when surfing through a lot of sites.

It's hard to do, but when it's sites that are really good, it's worth it. Some sites I know are probably completely fine because I know they don't have anything inappropriate on them (other than a few mild curse words that are also allowed here on CS, like damn). Some I know I can't share because they contain content not suitable for minors. I know my own resources really well, so that wouldn't be a problem.

I think adding the rule to check the sites for inappropriate content before posting them should suffice, especially because it's a CS rule not to post inappropriate content anyway. (And I was kinda planning on reviewing all the sites, so I'd check all of them in any case *cough*)

I think I'll try to give it a go soon. Well, after my exams (I knew there was something I was forgetting... xD).

so im thinking up a story along the lines of two people (or werewolves, idk >3<) named yin(girl, white hair) and yang (boy, black hair) and when they meet at a small coffe shop, yang gives her half a rock that is white with a black speck, and his is black with a white speck. same race and all yet a war takes place, and yang tries to find yin because the arphians (his side) are going to attack her country (the alopies) with a bomb, but the only way acrost is to join the war, so he travels along as fast as possible, fighting only when forced to, and killing only when times are desperate to get a love note acrost to yin, explaining his feelings. does that sound like a good write up, is it interesting, and what i should i add?

Any advice or suggestions to get my line of thinking on a better track?

I think that the best thing to do is just write.
It doesn't matter if it's bad, doesn't make sense, changes tense etc. Just write.
It can be any topic or whatever but you just have to write.
Writing without goals or fuss makes your writing more creative, free flowing and helps you beat writer's block.
Sometimes you have patches where your writing isn't as good as it usually is; It happens to everyone and is a normal experience that writers face.
Not really hanging around here anymore~ You can find me on deviantart though

I think it's pretty hard to do because it's different for everyone.
Have you tried to identify what kinds of struggles you have with your writing? Is it writer's block or something else entirely?

For writer's block (or just for the fun of it) I'd suggest trying to write in a style of someone else, or writing things you usually don't write at all. Stuff that will temporarily stun your inner editor and nagging self-doubt, because writing in someone else's style or writing things you never really write mean you don't have to be good. It's something you don't do anyway, or in a style that's not yours, so failure means nothing. Sometimes it even helps deliberately writing a Mary Sue or badfic. It's just to break through what weighs you down. Creating things with no pressure behind them.

You could also break your big goals down into smaller ones, and make them realisable easier than usually. For example, if your big goal is to finish the next story, you'd break that goal down into the smaller goals you have to reach before, like doing the research, plotting, characterization, writing every day or as often as possible, keeping track of spontaneous changes to the story, once the first draft's done checking what you have against what you had planned to get, finding what's wrong with the story, finding solutions for what's wrong with the story, fixing the story.
Every time you tick off another goal on that list, it'll make you feel better. Because you have something that physically represents your progress.

Other than that, I'm sure the others here have some advice up their sleeves too ^^

{Well I have an idea, what if you wrote it up, edited it and changed it to your liking until it fits, because you can always change it. If it doesn't make sense at first its ok, because it'll be like a small setback from your topic in mind.

Do you guys have any tips on writing a science fiction?
I believe in Jesus Christ my Savior, and I am not afraid to admit it. If you are a Christian, please copy and paste this into your signature. 96% of teens won't stand up for God. Put this in your signature if you are one of the 4% of teens who will.

sometimes, people relate sience fiction to sience fact, so dont be afraid if its a little out their, or to factual. also be sure to be creative. creativity is what maked the book what it is, meaning anything can go. hope this helped
