Hey guys! Just popping in to give you the very short prologue of my new book I've been planning ALL day; Horizon. It's a super, super short little thing as prologues generally are, but gives the basis of the rest of the book. I'm very excited! Please give feedback if possible. <3 <3 <3
here goes...

The world I see is how I’ve always known it. Though the elders – grandchildren of the very Escapes that founded the twelve Packs – tell us there was once a very different world, I and all my fellows see it how it is in the present. The land known as Horizon is divided into twelve highly protected territories that represent their surroundings and ruled by a single Alpha.
We are the Forest pack. We live in the hilly oasis of the lush, green forestland and its surrounding rock plains, almost isolated from the other territories. Our home is beautiful, and scattered in the trees with the remains of the ancient ‘human’ villages left over from the Beginning. Our very pack home is situated within a human place; an old castle that is perfect for our residence.
You see, the Beginning – as the elders tell us – was a war of the humans that killed their entire species living on the land we called Horizon. They were just selfish and couldn’t live in peace like us, and killed each other off, letting their dogs escape. We call the dogs who originally fled the war the ‘First Escapes’. They found their own life of solitude and hunting, coming together only with their mate.
The Second Escapes were the generation of the first pack formations, bringing the first step of harmony to Horizon’s dogs. This soon led to the Third Escapes; the dogs that founded and began ruling the twelve Packs of Horizon. Forest, Mountain, Desert, River, Jungle, Rock, Plain, Grassland, Shore, Skytower, Island and Darkenvalley. It may seem a lot and that they take up limited space, but Horizon is an enormous land. It stretches all the way to the ocean, which cannot be passed, as it stretched all the way to the… horizon.
The Third Escapes vowed to shroud the land in peace, and that any single Alpha who tries to slaughter his own dogs and attack the other Packs must be killed. Though trespassing dogs from any pack that wander into another territory can be killed, they told that it is important not to corrupt the harmony of either their own Pack, or others.
It’s been so for almost seventy years, which we must name the Four Seasons. When the Four Seasons pass, it is a new year.
For seventy Four Seasons, Horizon was left in the most calm and quiet state of peace. Our Alphas have all been kind-hearted dogs, who rule and look after all the citizens within the border of their territory well.
That is all I have known.

Would anyone look at this and see if it's any good? I'm rather satisfied by it, so crit on the first part of possibly my new novel.
I know there's no indentations, I'll edit it soon.
Kyoro was on the run. A golden, black-spotted tail trailed behind her as she sprinted away, her teeth bared in an almost feline growl. "Damnit, are they here again? My fault for getting too close to the city..." The girl looked over her shoulder, the men were slowing, as if they could feel the oppressive aura of the slum radiating stronger now, as they had chased Kyoro far from their beloved city. She turned and let out a loud growl, almost a roar. "You'd be better off heading back, the Chimeras aren't as lenient as you are. They'd kill you on sight."
As if they realized that she spoke the truth, they headed back, throwing a mocking phrase over their shoulders, "That's right, kitty. Tuck your tail and run off to your ragged group of outcasts."
Kyoro snarled, about to chase them, when a hand appeared on her shoulder, a voice accompanying it, "It's alright. They'll get what they deserve soon enough."
Kyoro sighed, she knew the deep voice belonged to her adoptive father, Belhelm. She looked up at his face, he was in his former, human attire, not his Chimera form. A pair of tan slacks, the unshaven, stubbly face she loved, and the gentle smell of his cologne. "I know, Belhelm, but...I just wanted to look at the city. It's brilliant at night like this." Kyoro's features were starting to smooth out, becoming more human, the tail retreated, her teeth dulled, and the claws on her hands disintegrated.

So, I was wondering.
Do any of you have a specific medium to write with? Like, always computer, always notepads, always Word?
I used to use only Word, but then I couldn't use my computer for God knows how long and then I started using a notebook for a specific story. I found it really handy, actually. I can do quick scratch edits and whatever, I can put a page or two dedicated specifically to notes and dot points... I don't know, I love it. I just find it faster to do it on a computer, but I won't until the notebook is full with this story.

I usually use the computer cause I just find it neater. But sometimes I write little bits of stories in notebooks or journals.
