TO BE A PERSON IS TO HAVE A STORY TO TELL.
- Hello and welcome to my writing contest!
There are some pretty nice prizes to be won so I hope you'll read on and hopefully enter with some words of your own.
All you have to do in order to be eligible is write a short story in under 5,000 words.
I'll be providing a few things for you to work off if you're stuck on what to write but feel free to use whatever plotline you'd like.
I will be the sole judge of the contest, so any queries can be directed to me via this thread.

→ Tess' rules apply to all of this. No explicit content in your writing, please.
→ The deadline is the 16th of May, so you've all got a good long while to get typing. There will be no exceptions to this.
→ The word maximum is 5,000 words, but of course you need not all write as much as that. It's quality I'm looking for, not quantity!
→ Any plagiarism of ideas will be reported. End of.
→ You are welcome to work together with another user for your entry, though the prizes will remain as stated. You can divide them as you wish.
→ Be respectful and kind to other users! Even point out any typos they may have made and comment on their work, if you'd like.
→ The writing you enter must be completely original and must have solely been written for the writing contest.
→ My word is law here. If I say you've been disqualified or that something needs changing I expect it to happen - though hopefully I won't need to.
→ Please check through your work and edit it as much as you need to before the deadline. I expect correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
→ Please post your entry on a separate thread (offsite is allowed), then post the link here.
→ One entry per person (or per two people if you are collaborating)
→ The competition will be closed to entries on the 16th of May, as stated above, and anything entered after this date will not be counted. Please, do not rush judging. There has been a great deal of interest to the competition and I would like things to be as fair and as well-thought-out as possible.
→ Remember, there will always be other contests to enter. Please don't complain if you don't get a prize.
