The mysterious forest
Sunlight cast over the fields, causing the wet, dewed grass to glisten happily. At the edge of the field stood a clutter of sticks, branches and moss. Noise was coming from it, then a little tail lashed out of the door. Clementine, a young kiamara, emerged from the door, a basket held in her mouth. She waved goodbye to her mother as she set off alone. Clementine was going egg hunting! Her broad paws bounced upon the soggy ground, her claws sparkling with dew. As she was running, a butterfly fluttered gracefully around her, landing on her ear for a few seconds. Clementine giggled sweetly, and it flew off.
By now, Clementine had completely forgotten about her egg hunting, and was chasing the butterfly, laughing and prancing. It dived into a dark, gloomy forest, in which Clem followed. She was so intrigued by the gorgeous patterns and flow of the wings that she didn't realise where she was. She whimpered and her shoulders hunched as the butterfly disappeared into the darkness. Odd noises of snapping sticks and hooting owls surrounded her, making her stomach twist and hurl itself around. Clementine gulped loudly, a sharp pain in her throat and a stab of worry blocking her chest up. She wheezed, frightened of her neck being cut by a stranger. Crunch...Clementine twizzled around in a flurry of colours, and saw a little rodent creature, glowing white. 'A forest spirit...' she whispered to herself, following the glow. It led her to a deeper part of the forest, but Clem wasn't scared. She felt safe with the rodent. It stopped in its tracks, looking around, and then it leapt up onto Clem's shoulder. 'You're safe with me. Don't worry...' it squeaked happily. Clem smiled and held it in her paws. 'Thank you. And I mean it, thank you...' She whispered, and they both disappeared out of the forest and were back home in no time. Clem chuckled sweetly as her mother asked why she had been so long. 'Oh, I just went on a little journey!' she laughed, sitting down and hiding the rodent in her paws.
