"When I was young
it seemed that life was so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
and all the birds in the trees,
well they'd be singing so happily,
joyfully, playfully watching me.
but then they send me away
to teach me how to be sensible,
logical, responsible, practical.
and they showed me a world
where I could be so dependable,
clinical, intellectual, cynical."
There are times
"when all the world's asleep"
{{ Full Name;{{ Nickname;"I answer to Alphonse, but if you can call me Al. Alisa calls me Alfie, but that's just because she's my twin. I don't particularly like it."

{{ Description;Alphonse can be considered to be a bit taller than average, yet he lacks about five or so inches when being compared to someone as colossal as Bran or Nate. He has dark blonde hair that he keeps relatively short; it's somewhere between a buzz cut and a shaggy skater boy appearance. The way Alphonse keeps his hair is incredibly logical to him; the boy can't seem to fathom how girls at Camp go into battle with long flowing hair and somehow miraculously exit with it all attached to their heads. His hair stays out of his way while performing regular Camp activities.
Alphonse has a very prim and proper look to him; just by looking at this demigod you can tell that he is quite intelligent, although the fact that he looks like a stereotypical Athena child will lead to others assuming that he is incredibly smart anyway. His gray eyes match those of his siblings, yet his have some flecks of green existing in the irises. The young man tends to wear a somewhat serious expression, but when found with his twin or anyone else that he's close with, a genuine smile is not uncommon.
{{ Height;"I'm five foot ten, so I think I'm taller than most girls and guys, but there's a handful of giants at Camp."
For such
"a simple man"
{{ Personality;A prominent feature that Alphonse Mendez possesses is the fact that he is incredibly intelligent, although that just comes with the fact that his mother is the goddess of wisdom, Athena. His specialty is being a strategist, which time after time makes weekly leaders of Capture the Flag anxious to sway Alphonse to their side when recruiting for the game before the game actually takes place Friday evenings. Although Alphonse is ridiculously intelligent he tends to be a pushover. Unfortunately Alphonse lets people walk all over him to the point that he can be seen as a doormat, especially when it comes to his twin. He isn't very assertive and it can be a bit humiliating to the blonde that most of the girls, not even in his cabin, are far more assertive than he is. He often gives into someone rather quickly when under pressure; that being said, Alphonse's intelligence seems to be hindered when being compelled to do something. This is what he considers to be his fatal flaw; the fact that he seems to crack under pressure. Although, if the matter he is being forced into is something that goes against his beliefs completely, he will stand up for himself and not allow himself and his ideas to be pushed aside so easily and without a fight.
Alphonse's mind is run by logic alone and is without any instincts; he will never charge into battle without first thinking everything through. He can think of strategies very quickly, so this phase before combat doesn't seem to last too long. Alphonse is also quite observant. He is much more of a listener than a talker; Alphonse will listen to whatever anyone has to tell him, no matter how well he knows the person talking to him. Sometimes his personality can be seen as 'awkward', yet the word isn't much of a stretch. Though Alphonse listens to new people, he isn't very good with talking to them and will often have Alisa introduce both her and him to any new campers. Even through this technique Alphonse will still awkwardly stand beside his twin and wave with a 'hi'.
Alphonse also tends to keep a very level-head and a calm mind. He is rarely overtaken by anger; no one at Camp has actually ever seen him in a bad mood. He likes to hear both sides of a story before choosing sides, and even though he doesn't like to chose, Alphonse will always come to a completely unbiased conclusion. He is very good with mediating problems occurring between demigods at Camp.
{{ History; The father of the Mendez twins, Samuel Mendez, was a reputable scholar in Boston who captured the attention of Athena. Though he was already married for ten years to his wife, Helen Mendez, a professor teaching at Boston University. Samuel's meeting with the goddess resulted in him having an 'affair' with the goddess, although affair might not be the correct term when brain children are involved, as Athena is a virgin goddess. When Alisa and Alphonse were dropped off on the porch of Mr. and Mrs. Mendez, Helen was completely shocked upon finding that her faithful husband had gone off and had an affair. Though Helen was level-headed and allowed her husband to explain himself to her and eventually found it in her heart to forgive him once she believed his story.
The married couple couldn't just drop off the newborns at an orphanage, and since they couldn't have children of their own, Helen suggested raising the two as if they were their own children. So Alphonse and Alisa went on growing up with Samuel and Helen in a normal household living relatively normal lives. The identity of their mother being a goddess was kept from the twins for their own safety. Their parents knew that they were demigods, but waited to tell them until the time was right. Alphonse and Alisa believed that Helen was their mother.
The monster attacks began when the twins were thirteen. After narrowly escaping an unknown attack at their school, Alphonse wanted to know what was after them. That day the Mendez twins learned of their godly heritage and were sent off to Camp Half-Blood where they became year-round campers.
Won't you please
"please tell me what we've learned"
{{ Likes;"It sounds boring and lame, but I like anything logic-based. Obviously I like reading, and my favorite subject to read about is probably anything history related. I also like archery quite a lot; the reason I took up the arrow in the first place was to see how quickly I could measure the trajectory of the arrow and--I'm sorry, I'll stop before I bore you any further."
{{ Dislikes;"I wouldn't say I hate it, but I do extremely dislike doing nothing. I have to occupy myself with some activity at all times or else I'll feel like I'm not accomplishing anything, which is a horrible feeling. I also don't like it when people disturb me when I'm reading or studying."
I know it sounds
"absurd"
{{ Weapon;"I don't use anything too flashy; I fight with a bow and I sometimes keep a quiver on my back; I have a personal one but I don't mind using a standard quiver full of arrows at the archery range; all of them work fine. I keep the bow in an owl keychain that my mother gave me; she said it resembles the Mark of Athena or something like that, but no matter how much research on it I do--and believe me this is my biggest research topic--I always come to a dead end."
{{ Special Abilities;"Well since Mother is the goddess of wisdom, I'm pretty intelligent, as are all of my half-siblings. But other than that I seem to be the best strategist in my cabin; I can see all of the possible scenarios playing in my head relatively quickly so if we're ever pressed for time I can probably come up with something even though I don't do well under pressure."
{{ Fatal Flaw;"I tend to over think things. A lot, actually. Alisa tells me that I always have a look on my face like I'm calculating something and the rest of my half siblings agree; everyone says that'll lead to my downfall."
But please tell me
"who I am."
