I felt my heart race with adrenalin seeing the two jeeps. After everything that had already happened, I was ready to kick some *ss. Raleigh pulled open the glove compartment and handed Derek and Jared a gun, keeping one for herself as well.
"Wait, where's-" I could barely finish my sentence before Derek cut in, pushing me onto the floor boards of the car.
"Stay down, Astella." Derek ordered, glancing down at me and looking back out the window as Jared sped up. Whatever made him so sweet those past few nights was long gone. But I had a feeling that side of Derek was for my eyes only, like he wanted everyone to think he was some tough guy who only cared about the well being of our group.
"No! I'm a fighter hybrid so I deserve to help! I'm part of this group, am I not?" I objected, trying to seem as tough as I possible could. It was quiet a moment, just the hum of the car, then Jared broke the bitter silence.
"Astella, you're not trained. We'd just be putting you in more danger than you're already in." Jared stated, glancing back at me then the road. He was talking to me like I was five years old. Not to mention my name made me sound like a three year old.t
"I killed two men and saved Derek's *ss the other day. Now I'm driving all across the country with all this crap that's already happened. Now give me a gun or I'll jump out of this car and try to kill them myself." I threatened, it would take a lot of guts to actually do that but Derek would probably grab the rim of my sweater and never let me forget it. Raleigh hesitated before thrusting a shot gun at my chest.
"You better know how I use this thing." She grumbled. The two Jeeps were speeding up and Derek stuck his head out the window to shoot at them.
"They're bullet proof, we won't be able to shoot them unless they stick they're heads outside." Derek announced, my hopes of shooting them and getting it over with dropping. The two jeeps sped up and closed in on Jared's car, flanking it on both side so Jared couldn't turn out of the way, just go along.
"I suggest you hold onto something." Jared announced before slamming on the breaks. Before I had any time to react, Derek had already grabbed me by the rim of my sweater and pulled me into his hold. I pressed face against his chest and squeezed my eyes shut hearing the discomforting noise of a door being ripped off its hinges. I opened one eyes slightly to see Derek was nearly falling out of the car before I grabbed him and pulled him away.
"Thanks." Derek mumbled under his breath, I could feel the cold air bursting into the car at once. Shivering slightly, I glanced up to see a man pop his head out of one of the Jeeps but before he did anything Jared's bullet went right through his head. I had formed a small idea in my head, it was either brilliant or insane but I guess I was about to find out. I ripped myself from Derek's grip and shot out of the car before he could grab me again. I ran toward the Jeeps, waving my arms in the air. A mass of shooting cleared straight passed me and one bullet clipped my arm as I dived for the solid pavement and shot upward at the shooter. Dead in three seconds flat. I smiled at my accomplishment but didn't notice another man until a bullet already went through his head. Raleigh. I quickly got to my feet seeing a man come up behind her but it was too late. He had already snaked his arms arm her neck and held her in a choke hold. I held my gun up to him but a woman kicked it out of my hand instantly and pinned me against a Jeep, her long fingers coiling around my neck.
"Wow, you really are weak." She chuckled, anger boiled inside me and I struggled harder against her grip, noticing she was having a hard time holding on now. "If it weren't for your little friends you'd be dead already. But I guess now I get to kill you myself, huh?" She let out a me icy laugh that sent chills down my spine as I gasped for breaths. She was choking me. My vision went blurry after awhile and I felt my body grow weaker and weaker until I was numb. Just before I slipped into unconsciousness, the color drained from the woman's face and she fell to the ground, me falling with her. I took my time processing what happened before glancing over at the woman who now had a bullet in her head. I glanced upward to see Jared slowly lowering his gun before jogging over to me, Derek following close behind.
"Are you alright? You're pale as a ghost." Jared stated, I nodded and drew in a deep breath before the feeling came back to my legs and I could pull myself up off the ground. Derek was looking me over before brushing his hair from his eyes and slipping his arm around me to "help me walk". Raleigh had already killed the man who held her in a choke hold and we all piled into the car before quickly driving away from the scene. Derek and I moved away from the side with no door and I was forced to pull of my hood because of the unbearable cold. Wind rushed inside the car and I glanced out the window, seeing a jet black helicopter go to the scene and pick up the bodies. I noticed one thing out of the ordinary. A burly dark skinned man with a black coat and sunglasses which his his eyes, staring right at me. Not the dead bodies, but me. I turned away instantly and curled up into a ball in Derek's arms as the sun started going down. Derek rubbed my back gently and avoided touching my new bandages. I tried pulling my mind away to sleep but the burly mans image burned in the back of my mind. I knew that wasn't the last time I would see him.

So awesome! But not that much interesting XD the other chapters was more well, awesome, like suspense O.O XD
