Chapter 1
"Come children..." Jay called softly, she sat down in her rocking chair by the fire. She waited for the 9 year old 4.11" boy with brown hair and the 11 year old 5 ft milk chocolate haired girl.Luke rolled his brown eyes and whispered to Iris "Time for another one of mom's boring stories." he snickered.Iris' green eyes flickered with slight irritation "I think they're interesting." she snapped in a whisper.Iris walked over to her mom and sat at her feet,Luke reluctantly followed."I'm going to tell you two the legend of the Whispering Waters." Jay said,in her quiet smooth voice.Iris smiled and bounced up and down slightly,Luke,of course, just grunted and looked away.
Jay sighed and began the story, "It all began over a thousand years ago, when a wizard sent his apprentice on his first mission to deliver five potions to a family in the woods. One was the Whispering Potion which was the most important one,it was the last potion of that type in the little shop. The others could easily be replaced. The apprentice started his mini journey to the woods,on his way he stopped by a little stream to get a drink and rest.He took out his big cup and got a whole bunch of water, his eyes wandered as he was drinking and landed on the Whispering Potion. The apprentice put his cup down at his feet and picked up the potion bottle and took the little cork out of the bottle to see if the liquid inside was whispering. He put the bottle up to his ear and heard voices inside. He started to laugh when the bottle slipped out of his hand,he quickly reacted and caught it.But the liquid was all gone,he looked at his cup.The water turned yellow and it was whispering. The apprentice rushed back to the shop without spilling the water."
Jay stopped to get a cup of tea."Fascinating so far isn't it,Luke?" Iris looked at her younger brother,Luke looked down "It's pretty good..." he mumbled. "Ha! So not all of mom's stories are boring aren't they?" Iris laughed,Luke glared at her "Stop it!". Iris kept laughing, when their father came into the room. "Your mother is really tired,so I'm going to finish the story for you guys." Bill smiled,he sat down with the kids instead of the rocking chair, "Where did she leave off?" he asked. "She left off where the apprentice was rushing back to the shop with the Whispering Water." Luke answered,Iris raised a brow at him. Bill nodded his head "Alright." he smiled "When the apprentice got back to the shop, the wizard saw all of the potions were still with him except one."Zeroun!Where is the Whispering Potion?!!?" the wizard yelled, the apprentice,Zeroun hung his head and showed him the cup of yellow water. The wizard's face turned tomato red "GET OUTTA HERE!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. Zeroun ran to the Mountains of Flying Sorrow and was never seen again." Bill yawned "I'm going to bed, don't stay up to late." he got up and went upstairs.
"Iris! The Mountains of Flying Sorrow are only a week away if we walk!" Luke said excitedly.Iris glared at him "We don't even know if the story is real!". "Oh come on! Please can we go? I will do your chores for a month if it doesn't exist." Luke gave her his famous pouty face,Iris sighed "Alright,we pack up tonight and we leave at the crack of dawn."
