Chapter 2
Derek
I sighed hearing my dads footsteps trailing up the stairs and down the hall to my room. "Derek! Youre going to be late for school if you don't get up!" He warned before walking back down stairs. I grumbled something under my breath and pulled myself up, running a hand through my messy hair.
I quickly jumped out of bed and changed into some demem blue jeans and a green V-neck. I never really cared what I looked like, just the way my hair was bothered me. It's like a dirty blond kind of color and is a bit long. What sucks is no matter what I do to it it always is messy. I slung my bag over my shoulder and took my precious time walking down stairs, taking slow steps.
I made my way into the kitchen and quickly ate a peice of toast. Before running out the door. I jumped into my car, driving down the road. I looked away for one second and heard a thud against the hood of my car. My eyes widened and I stopped the car, quickly getting out to see what I hit. I looked down to see some girl sitting on the road, rubbing the back of her neck and squinting her eyes uncomfortably. "Hey, you alright?" I asked helping her up, realizing it was Casey I hit.
I've known Casey since kindergarten and I used to have a big crush on her when I was a kid. So I messed with her all the time to get her attention. I made fun of her, called her names, played pranks on her. Now I really regret it because she's hated me ever since. I smiled slightly seeing her in my arms when I helped her up. "I'm fine." She murmured before looking up at me. Her eyes narrowed instantly when she saw my face and she pushed me away from her.
"Why am I not surprised it was you who ran me over?" She said harshly. She looked down at her skate board which was now snapped in half underneath the tire. My eyes widened, I knew for a fact I was going to die. "Oh my god, Casey, I'm so sorry. Um ... At least let me give you a ride to school? To make it up to you?" I asked, rubbing the back of my neck nervously. Casey stayed silent staring at the boared for a moment. "No, you've done enough." She murmured quietly, picking up the two pieces of her board and grabbing her bag. "Just leave me alone." She muttered walking away.
I sighed and ran after her, reaching out to grab her wrist. "Ow! You shocked me!" She growled turning around. I quickly pulled my hand away from her, what was weird was I felt it too. "Sorry!" I said quickly. "But please, let me take you to school." The school was another three miles away and I knew she voiding get there on foot. Casey sighed and looked at me. "If I do will you stop following me?" She asked.
I smiled slighty and nodded, running back to my car and driving over to her. She jumped in the car and placed her bag on her lap, staring out the window. "Thanks." She said softly. I smiled over at her and looked back at the road. "No problem." I said happily. For one moment she didnt exactly hate my guts.
