Chapter one
-Casey-
I woke up the next morning and blinked the sunlight out of my eyes. The alarm clock blared in my ears as I slowly turned my head to glance at it. I slammed my hand down on the snooze button and stuffed my face in my pillow. It was to damn early for school, it's not like I was going to use most of the stuff we learn in life anyway.
A moment layer I heard the alarm go off again and I angrily unplugged it and threw it at the wall, watching it shatter and fall to the floor. I was really pissed off this morning for some reason. I brushed a long price of hair from my eye and sighed softly.
I heard footsteps coming from the hall and saw Ryan, my brother, rushing into my room. "Are you alright?" He asked frantically before looking down at the alarm clock. He sighed and walked over to me, sitting down on my bed. "Why have you been acting so weird lately?" He asked quietly, staring at me. I didn't look back up at him, I just looked down at my dark green sheets and let my hair cover my face.
Ryan placed his finger tips under my chin and gently pulled my face up so I could look at him. "Come on, Casey. You can tell me anything." He insisted. I sighed and closed my eyes so I didn't have to see his. They made you want to spill your heart out to him. I honestly didn't want to tell him so I just stayed silent. Ryan pulled me close and hugged me tight. He obviously knew somethin was wrong but wouldn't be annoying about it. "It's almost time for school, want me to walk you?" He asked pulling away from me slightly, looking at me. I shook my head and looked at him. He got up and ruffled my hair gently before walking out. "Just let me know when you want to talk." He said softly.
I sighed and got up, not bothering to make my bed. I walked over to the bathroom and closed the door, staring in the mirror. I pushed my hair out of my eyes and watched it fall back again. I stared at myself and ran through the flaws in my head. Too skinny, hairs too long, legs too short, skin too pale, lips too thin. I sighed and brushed my teeth quickly and ran a brush through my long hair. It was light brown with blue streaks I did myself with my bangs brushed to the right side of my face. It was so long because I never got it cut since I was a kid. I just didn't like being touched after my mom left.
When I was real little my parents always fought, it scared me so much so Ryan would hide me in his room and try to get them to stop. When I was six he finally had my dad divorce my mom. She would always bring other guys home and she hated me. Me and my brother have always been so close. He's 23 now and he still hasn't left because he worries for me. I'm 16 by the way.
I pushed those thoughts away and changed from sweats and a tank top to skinny jeans and a plaid button up shirt. I rolled up the sleeves to my elbows and quickly but on some mascara before pulling on my beanie. I grabbed my back pack and ran down the hall to the kitchen. I through my bag down in the floor and quickly made a bowl of cereal, tipping the box of Cheerios until they fell out into the bowl. I poured milk intothe bowl and took it to the kitchen tabel, sitting down and stirring up randomly.
Ryan looked over his shoulder and took his cereal over to the tabel and sat down next to me. "Don't play with your food, it will get all soggy and you will have to throw it away." He told me. I rolled m eyes and stuck a spoonful in my mouth. I quickly ate the rest and set the bowl in the sink. "I'm leaving." I told Ryan, grabbing my bag and walking outthe door. "Cya!" I heard him call out to me before I left. I waved with out turning around. I closed the door and grabbed my skate board, pushing down the road to school.
Just like almost every morning.
