I absolutely adored this piece of work. Except the end. Because it ended! Noooo!! I wanted to red more!

Wow, Tawny... I agree. That is very well-written, and it's so horrifying that it's beautiful- how extreme the situation was, and yet how small of a matter it was to him. I think you did well to display a man who was selfless, generous, and just in the wrong place at the wrong time...

The way you ended it made me wonder what would happen to the girl... *sigh* I wish I could write anywhere near as good as that. XD I guess I have to just keep practicing.

Thank you! I just got around to reading this (I'm a bit busy nowadays, even though I make an effort to catch up to everything as much as I can) and it inspired me to write more in the story I just started... I was thinking on abandoning it, since I wasn't quite sure what exactly I wanted the outcome to be.
I reread the story(yours, not mine!), too, and it was even better the second time- mostly because I caught on to a few things that I missed.
