Most of my female characters are fairly placid and can sometimes be considered shy, [not true~] but tend towards instability later on, and can get very attached to certain things. I have a fun one who was very outgoing and leader-like as a child, pushing her twin brother around a considerable bit. However, she experienced some trauma and amnesia that caused that personality to disappear before she could remember her past life, and currently she is a bit unsettling. She's calm and oddly innocent, [how a child assassin can be innocent is beyond me, but it just happened] and not insane at all in the typical sense, but her values range from nonexistent in places, to disturbingly skewed, and even to normal in others. Oh the fun~

Katniss. Don't get me started on that girl.
I loved the Hunger Games, truly, though by the time the movie came out some of the obsessive fans started grating on my nerves a bit. [I preferred the first book, but for some reason I think the 2nd movie will be the best. But that's irrelevant.]
It got to the point that when asked why she wasn't my favorite character, I couldn't help but state that is she wasn't the narrator, most of her fans would strongly dislike her.
Very strongly.
She was sweet with Rue though.^^
We're both aboard on an airship as it flies
And it's chasing for a star hiding from our eyes
And before all our feelings will subside
Let's escape past the air, the atmosphere

My eyes they looked into the night sky a bit too much
And then found light it turned into a painful touch
If this world will keep on spinning in the time ahead
You should go and find a reason to live on instead
Saying bye this afternoon is really too soon

Both of the characters I typically roleplay in literate are far from overpowering or rude.

My male is very insecure, skittish and easily subdued by his older brother. The female has a childish, sweet personality and is a very innocent at heart. Neither are pushy, stuck-up or Mary sues, and I prefer it that way. I've noticed I have a lot more fun playing characters with more flaws.

I usually do this. I just prefer having flawed characters, especially for females.\
For males.. I just.. don't know.. lol

I'm considering using my roleplay characters in NaNoWriMo, what do you guys think?
It's just because I know them best and all...

I think that'd be good, because like you said you already know them. It'd be harder to start with new characters and harder=more time

First to vote in the poll guys! (woot woot!)
I just want to give my little shpeel about unique names because it's something I feel very very strongly about. (xD)
I think names make the story way more interesting. Now I don't like completely weird names, but I have actually refused to read decent books whose characters all had names like Elizabeth, Sarah, James, Rover for the dog, Whiskers for the cat and stuff like that. Names add a whole other layer to your book! There are so many incredibly awesome names that you never hear and I think it's silly not to take advantage of them! So yeah. I always use "different" sorts of names. xP

I'm half sad that I can't do NaNoWriMo (I have a novel that I'm working on) and at the same time really really happy I'm not. xD

I do have one character that breaks the 'jerk' rule, but that's just who he is. He's partly insane and suffers bipolarity, and in several cases is the bad guy, (or more recently the demon) in plots. While on the other hand my timid male is usually schizophrenic and doesn't have a great connection with reality. So it really depends on who they are associated with and what disorders or backgrounds they have.

On another note: I've been trying to find a name for my character.
She's female and I'm pretty sure with blonde, shoulder length hair. Blue or green eyes.
Any name suggestions? I've always used the name Rose. So I was thinking strongly about that one.

That sounds good to me... Or maybe Emily or Kate.

I have a female character who is aggresive, unpatient, and has a slight adiction to alcohol, yet is a dreamer, and easily drifts off, loves music, plays the saxohone and the guitar and leads a double life. Then I have one who is sadistic in a way, 'addicted' to classical music, hates curiousity and is a hopeless romantic deep inside. Then I have one who is serene, patient, always hopeful, calculating, jealous, practically always obeys orders and afraid of death, also being proud of herself and her achievements.

I'd appreciate some thoughts, however small xD

      HEY GUYS.
      I had an idea.
      - What if we made a thread for a ''novel'', and we all decided on a general plot. We could take turns posting a "chapter", and the next person would have to go off of the previous advancements? I saw this done in a writing workshop of mine. It was pretty crazy. We would of course have to sign up for it and have an ordered post line.
      Anyone interested?

*raises hand*
ME! That would be awesome :3
