Omg no. Stop. I'm not one of those people that likes to tell people things that aren't true.

If you complain about being a bad writer, and you are, I will refrain from speaking.

But if you say your are and you aren't, then uhm, not cool bro.

You have awesome writing rose. Sure, everyone needs a little editing once in a while, but I swear you are a brilliant writer.

We all are.

Heck, you all post your stuff on this page. I hate my writing so much that the moment I post a post on this discussion, I delete it right away. It's probably apart of my anxiety, but you are all brilliant.

No one on here sucks.

But you know what? I don't know that! And as long as I keep pushing forward, and working towards my goal. I will be published. Someday, I will.

I don't know if that's your dream, but as long as you keep working towards whatever you want, you'll get there.

Yeah, I feel like that most of the time too. *Sighs*

I sometimes do too. But then I just lower my standards, and tada! It's good. By default. Then I higher them, and with the newfound confidence, I feel like I did better than ever before.
Now I have to work on my story, and it's a romantic part. And as I mentioned earlier, I fail at romance.
Yeah, I've been working on this chapter since May. *Is so embarrassed*

lately, a lot of people have been complimenting my writing/role-playing

most of them are friends--so that's kinda...I guess expected? unless they're brutally honest
but i just...i never take it seriously. like...i don't believe them and think they're just being
nice to me or something. T_T

For anyone who's in the process of/has published an actual, literate novel;

I really want to write this book that I've had in my head for years. I have a few ideas - some that I'm certain will spill out very nicely onto paper. But, I'm having a hard time concentrating. Being a teenager and living in my house does not mean quiet, but that's not really the problem anyway. I really want to start it, but I'm not quite sure how. My instinct and feeling in my gut tells me to write at the beginning and let the story take me away, but in the past that's failed, leaving unwritten stories dusty on Word Document. The other idea is to write all the events of the book down and then execute them, but that's failed me before too. The last thing I could do is write scenes of the book I see in my head and then put them all together but I don't really want to do that because there's no way my tale can expand that way. I guess what I'm really looking for is deeper motivation. What have you all done?

If anyone hasn't already, the website "Protagonize" is excellent for posting stories. Of course you have to advertise around the site to get your stuff reviewed/critiqued by more people, but it's still a good site. Even for storing documents you might lose on your computer.

Well, most of the time, unless I have some inspiration.
The thing is, I only ever get as ar as the first paragraph and then I don't see how to continue writing properly. Sometimes I have the plot in mind, but I'm just not able to continue writing for some reason :/
Any ideas how to stop that?
