I have so many ideas, but whenever I get them, it's usually pretty late, or I'm busy doing something, and I can't get any of it written down, and I forget important details that I come up with. It's really irritating me...

But, I just got a new idea, and I'm wondering if I should try to do anything with it?

The story would be based around the lives of a few wolves [i'm not sure the exact number yet] who are the last remaining wolves on the planet. After a brutal war around the world, most animals [and people] are wiped out. The survivors are either sick, injured, or fierce competitors for what little food there is. The humans are once again dominating the earth by killing off their competition [wolves and other carnivores], but a few wolves are realizing that they might have a chance at keeping their species alive if they work together. I would be writing in the point of view of the wolves, changing it for each chapter.

Like I said, this is a pretty sketchy idea, and I don't know if I should even attempt to make something of it... Suggestions? Comments?

It's very interesting, and I like it. Though (In my opinion, don't take anything from it xD) it seems almost 'unfitting' for wolves to try to be.... dominating against humans? I dunno..... Once again, don't take anything I just said seriously, I'm crazy in the coconut xD

Thank you for replying! And I do see your point... Maybe I could change that. The people are completely wiped out, and I can find some other competitor?
Yes, that makes much more sense! It's almost as if, say, the humans are not able to supply resources and suchamobobbers. And the wolves, ya' know, need to regain control of the Earth before complete chaos overcomes, the result of no one being in charge. Once again, I'm crazy in the coconut, but yeah! :)

Will you critique other's work?: Duh! What's the point in reading a great story without critquing it?

I can't write anything good when I'm nervous. My dreams are horrific nightmares so no inspiration there (Unless I want to write a novel that makes you want to die) and if I try to force it I just ramble with no purpose.
Pick up exam results tomorrow. Pray the nerves stop with it.
Sorry this angry rant has purpose, honest...I was going to ask- How many people on here illustrate what they write?

I don't illustrate my work, I am not a very good artist, but sometimes when I write, I try to find a song to go with it or I write a song. At lot of times, I base my stories off of a song I love.

I illustrate sometimes, though more often than not it's me thinking up a nice scene, picking all the colors and details, and then keeping it in my head, all to myself because I can't draw people anymore.
It makes me so sad, looking back at all my old artwork and seeing how over the years all the art theory classes and school classes and pouring all my love and inspiration into my roleplay made it go all flat and lifeless. ;n;
I can copy a scene for a still life perfectly, and can do textures and shading and color really well, but I don't have any originality anymore.

I'm almost jealous. I haven't had a nightmare in years, and only remember two that I had as a child that reoccurred a few times.
[one, whenever I was sick with fever and stomach sickness or the unable-to-eat-or-do-anything-but-sleep thing that I've been getting a lot recently, and the other only twice, both after getting in trouble with my family.] Dreams [to me] are often very good inspiration, even if it's only harnessing a bit of a nightmare for a scary scene or a regular one as inspiration for a crack fic.^^;
I think the whole lack-of-nightmares thing stems from my painful-emotion-dissociation problem, but I'm not positive. If it doesn't let me be hurt by sadness or mourning, then it would make sense for terror to be blurred out as well.
We're both aboard on an airship as it flies
And it's chasing for a star hiding from our eyes
And before all our feelings will subside
Let's escape past the air, the atmosphere

My eyes they looked into the night sky a bit too much
And then found light it turned into a painful touch
If this world will keep on spinning in the time ahead
You should go and find a reason to live on instead
Saying bye this afternoon is really too soon

I have finished my first novel in three years ^^ I finished it about five days ago. It has 104,258 words in twenty chapters. It took about four months plus planning, but only because I procrastinated xD Rose is the reason I finished, honestly. If she hadn't have nagged and pushed me, I would still be only halfway through it.

Now I'm on chapter four of the second book :3

Just had a spark of inspiration while in the shower.

"I cannot do it. I just cannot do it. There is absolutely nothing to write about. All the heartwarming, mind-grasping stories that touch and move you have already been written! Curse this horrid writer's block.... It's as if a knife is scratching away at my aching, tired brain."

"I see. Let me help you. You could write about, say, a girl."

"A girl? Is that it? I need details, Ma, details!"

"I wasn't finished yet. You could write about a girl.... Who's.... Lost in the woods."

"But that's so simple."

"Ah, yes. Simple it may be. But picture a quilt, a big, fluffy quilt that you appreciate very much on cold nights. To make a quilt, you must start with some yarn and your weaving loom. Now a loom and yarn are both quite simple things, am I right? It doesn't seem as if anything good or useful would come out of those simple items. But then you must add on to that yarn. You weave it and weave it until you find yourself with something new, something beautiful. And when your task is accomplished, your finished product is a big, soft, lovely quilt that will provide you with warmth. Your hard work and efforts all pay off. It's the same with that story of yours, dear. You take that seemingly simple topic and add on to it. And when you're done, your finished product is one you can be very proud of."

"Well.... Yes, that does indeed make sense, but storywriting is much more complicated than that. The same rule wouldn't apply in all situations, Ma."

"Maybe, maybe not. But it's always worth a try."

I love that little snippet, so good!
Also @the journey wolf, have you ever thought of adding a fantasy element? Perhaps that would make the wolves rise up, or maybe they are forced by a leader with high aspirations?

You're not crazy, you have great ideas and I really appreciate the suggestion. Thank you!

I actually have considered that [fantasy], I just wasn't sure about the idea. I'm going to see if that can be included as well. Thanks so much!
And for the other idea, I think that could work later in the fic. Should I start with them already knowing each other, or should I include how they all meet and form the leadership?

(Writing out my night)
Tap. Tap. Tap. The noise is loud, everywhere at once, all around me. Scratch. Scratch. Tap. I know that beast is out there, digging it's way in. There's nothing I can do. As simple as that. Every child is taught it. When you heard that sound, you will be dead the second you hear the crack.
Tap.
Tap.
Snicker.
My eyes flicker open. I'm drenched in cold sweat, gasping from my nightmares. I press my face into my pillow, sobbing hysterically. The urge to run downstairs sobbing to my mother is strong, but at three am I don't think she'd react well. Instead I twist my head towards the tapping. As expected he sits there, long white fingers tapping on my desk, one hand to muffle his laughter.
"Tap Tap Tap" he chuckles.
"I hate you"
