Zack
Chapter 1
“Why are you here?” Karina muttered, feeling as if she had to at least say something to break the silence between them.
“Because...” Zack began although he was struggling to find the right words and Karina's sapphire glare was making it no easier for him. “I love you.”
Karina spluttered, her loose bronzy blonde plait flopping down over her shoulders as she went to speak, "Well... you have an odd way of showing it, boy." Her voice was harsh and uncaring as she spoke. Zack’s eyes drifted away from her, his hand gripping the ring he held behind his back. “It’s not my fault, Karina.” He groaned, turning his back on Karina’s confused frown. “You have a lovely way of showing your hate.”
Both became silent at that point, the mist wrapping around their feet like a chain, eyes on the ground. A growl like sigh from Karina was enough to tell Zack he wasn’t wanted so, with a heavy heart, he turned and took a solemn step forward.
