Gina
Once we stepped through the door, swirls of color and light flooded and grew around us. Some of it looked like large vines growing through a tunnel, and others looked like waves crashing down upon the sea shore. It was really beautiful, and I realized I hadn’t moved since I stepped through the door.
I turned my head behind me, there was still Jill and Gregory standing on either side of me, but farther back, I saw the door we had stepped in was just a small dot in space behind us.
I looked in other directions around us. Way far, I could see even more small dots in the distance. More doorways, probably. I wondered where they led to.
The colors were moving around us like wind, which seemed to be moving us around to…where ever we were going…Forothia, yeah. Some of the color actually was wind, light streaks of blue, pink, and greens swept by us. They were almost completely transparent, but were still noticeable.
The colorful wind had swept my hair, Mist’s fur, and Jill and Greg’s hoods back. I could see their faces fully for the first time. Jill looked a lot more like me than I thought. She was almost like an older version of me…Gregory didn’t really look like me…he was broader and his facial features were thinner. I didn’t say anything, though. With all this wind coming and going, it seemed to take sound with it. The wind itself didn’t carry any sound, so the moving portal was completely silent.
I think Mist barked at me a few times, because her mouth moved and she did that jerking motion dogs kind of do when they bark.
One of the dots in front of us moved closer and grew to a huge height. Soon the wind stopped, and the colors died down. The silence faded slowly, and soon everywhere was dark except for the bit of light that showed through the dirt doorway.
Jill looked at me and nodded. “It gets lighter when you go through it.”
Without a moment more, I walked through the door with Mist, Jill, and Greg behind me. Once I stepped through, a large shining light broke down upon me. I had to shield my eyes from the surprising light. But it was night! We were under some kind of tree canopy, so it was kind of hard to see the sky.
I peered through some branches below, and saw that there were seven moons in the sky! Seven moons! No wonder it was so bright! I looked from the sky to see where I was now.
I was in a real forest now, thousands of trees seemed to be in every direction, all seemed to be hundreds of feet tall. The leaves from the trees were huge, and were soft! They looked like giant green feathers! The bark of the trees were all kinds of weird colors, there was brown, white gray, purple, indigo…the rainbow colors were very dull, but could still be sought out.
Gregory stepped up to my side, and lifted his arms out in the air. “Gina of the Wolves, welcome to Forothia.”
