The Great Lizard Chase. ( a TRUE story by Chewy- )

Hi. I'm Sammy. One hot day I was sitting in my room, reading one of my new dragon books. Though only a few minutes after opening the book, I hear a terrible "EEEKKK !!!" from the other room. It was my mom. Down goes my book, and rushing into the living room I go, feeling my heart pound in my chest, thinking something had happened to her ! Only to find, when I get there, she is screaming at a small, brown lizard. He was only a few inches long, and quite skinny. Boy oh boy was that lizard scared ! He ran straight for cover at my mom's yells of horror. "Get it !" Cries my mom. I run after to get the lizard, dropping behind the couch, and peering behind it, finding the small brown lizard looking at me. I reach back for the lizard, just as my mom runs off for cover in another room, only to look back, my mom wasn't the only thing to disapear... No lizard. He was under the couch ! "Oh, how will I get him now !" I cry, looking under the couch with my flashlight, there still was no lizard. Looking closer into a hole under the couch, I assumed he was in there, hiding from my mom's loud cries. I rush off to my room, to get something to pry the back of the couch open a bit, so I can look more closely. After taking off a few screws, I push my flashlight in, and look around. Still no lizard ! I spend another twenty minutes of looking for him ! I can't find him anywhere. Soon my older cousin, Peaches walks in to get her daughter. But she finds me, looking around in the couch for this lizard, "Need some help looking ?" she ask looking over at me. I nod, pleased to have more help, certainly can't ask my crying mom ! For another ten minutes we look around in the couch, eventually spotting him in the very back of the couch, looking at us ! He most have been mocking us ! Peaches reaches back to grab him up by the tail, I warn her, " Never never never grab an Anole lizard by the tail !" Ignoring me, she reaches back into the couch, snagging him by the tail, but finds herself rearing back into the wall with a piece of his tail ! "I told you so !" I cry out as she yells. Sighing, we look back in the couch, he was gone again ! We go to pull our heads back out of the couch when he jumps down on us. We yell out in horror, and rear back as he scampers along the wall, towards the purple bean bag near the couch. We both again, hear my mother's cry out in shock as he scampers away. I jump up from where I was sitting with Peaches, and rush after him, Peaches following close by me with a fly swatter. Peaches steps in front of me, and moves the bean bag out of the way, sure enough, our lizard runs off in the direction of the sliding glass door, "Finally !" I cry as I think he was going to run outside. Wrong ! "Oh, no !" Peaches yells out as we watch him run under the love seat ! I rush to one side of the love seat, as Peaches was pushing the love seat up a bit. I lay on the ground, looking under the love seat with my flashlight, there I see, outlined by my flashlight, sits that lizard. I sigh, and call over to Peaches, "He is here, alright." I use the fly swatter, and herd him back to the open sliding glass door, only to watch him disapear behind the glass door ! "Oh, no !" Peaches and I cry at the same time. We both walk over to the door, and I kneel down beside the opening, prepared to get him as Peaches closes the door a bit, as she does, he comes into view. I reach down to get him, but he runs off deeper behind the door ! I cry out as I watch him run off again ! Peaches closes the door more, and he continues to run, until we get to the end, she goes to close it fully, "No !" I shout, stopping her from doing so. "You'll crush him !" She stops closing the door, and looks down at me, "Now what ?" She ask, "Give me the fly swatter for a second." I ask, taking it from her as she hands it to me. Once I have the fly swatter in hand, I push it down the crevice a bit, and try pushing him back, he starts to move ! I yell out happily, and give Peaches the fly swatter, instructing her to do as I just did. She starts to push him back, I scoot back, and cup my hands as he frees himself of is prison, I rush to get him, but he scrambles down the trail for the sliding glass door, "You aren't getting away again !" I yell out, and reach down to pick him up. He bites me ! "Ow !" I shriek, pulling my hand up a bit, he tries to jump, but I was determined he'd not get away again ! As he jumps, I cup my hands around him, he nips me again, while with both my hands clamped firmly around him, sighing, I rush over to the sliding glass door, and toss him out into the yard, his home. I walk back in the house, muttering at the fact he bit me. Peaches laughs, saying, "Atleast he is out now." I nod my agreement, and go to the kitchen to wash my hands. Mom finally, comes out of the dinning room, with a look of horror still, followed by my little sister, Allison, "Is he gone ?" she wails, "Yes, we finally caught him." I say, turning the water off, and drying my hands with a towel off the counter. Peaches comes over, with an amused look, "I didn't think you'd be so scared of a small lizard !" she laughs. Mom didn't find it as funny as she did, giggling my agreement. "What a way to spend a Tuesday evening, huh ?"
