What Is NaNo?

NaNoWriMo (or NaNo for short) stands for National Novel Writing Month. It started off in one country, but has now spread to a world wide event. Every year, thousands of aspiring novelists spend the month of November writing a 50,000 word book. The craziness that ensues is both maddening and amazing. There are times when you cannot stop writing, and everything is perfect. Other times, you have no clue what to write. There are no prompts, and it's a great way to learn, share, and write with a world wide community. To find out more, visit the official site.

What Is Screnzy?

Screnzy stands for Script Frenzy. Screnzy is the sister event to NaNo. For Screnzy, you are to write a 100 page script during the month of April. Your script can be about anything, in any form you want. Acceptable forms include musicals, stage plays, screenplays, TV shows, cartoons, or comics. Just like NaNo, you get to interact with a large community. For those who aspire to be screenwriters for the big screen, this is an excellent way to get started. Who Is Doing This on CS?

Well, that's a great question, and one I want to answer. I would love to be able to come to CS and ask people what they think, and while I can do that, I think it would be much more productive for all those writers who are interested or currently participate to share together in one place. Plus, it's a great way to get more writing buddies (and, let's face it, who doesn't want more?). Please drop on my and fill out a form if you do either of these events!
