~HELP~

Postby Zombex » Fri Apr 20, 2012 11:28 am

Hey, I need a poets help! Okay, for school (sorry I'm asking you to do my homework) we need to write a poem about a person in the boat. I'm a third class passenger, a mother who was travailing with her children who died. I'm not asking you to write me a poem, I just need some inspiration/help.
This is the person I've chosen;

It would be beautiful if you wrote about how she must have felt about her children who had to die so young ):

You better hope your teacher isn't a secret CS user...

In my opinion, emotions should be reversed when using feelings to write a poem. For example, a dark, sinister tone for a happy poem, and a light, almost fascinated note when writing tragedies.

I love that, Flightstar.
But I've been trying to start for about an hour and I can't decide on an opening sentence. Its a free form poem, and it's going to be wistful and light, like Flightstar said. So maybe like: What's a woman to do... Then list the things she saw.? I don't know.

Don't start with a question. It makes it look as though you're confused, and most people will just zone out. What I like to is start with something deep, meaningful. For example:

Alas, my time has come.
No more shall I see the dying sun.

Okay, you're doing the rest on my poetry homework forever xD

Okay, I'm writing it now. When I'm done, I'll put it up.
