Prologue
Ice stepped into his den.
"Summer?" he called into the darkness, "Are you there?"
Two green eyes looked up, "Leave me alone, Ice. You and me, its over." Summer growled.
"But Summer? You were so happy yesterday! What is wrong? Did you not like the prey I gave you?" Ice barked.
"Ice, just leave, Now." Summer warned. But Ice was a persistent wolf, and wouldn't give up on his mate.
"Come on now Summer, you can tell me?" Ice persuaded. Summer lept forwards, sinking her teeth into Ice's shoulder and then let go.
"I warned you Ice, now go." Summer flexed her claws.
Ice turned away, "Fine, but..?"
"Go! I never want to see you again!"
"Summer.." Ice padded out the cave, a tear trickled down his cheek.
Over a mile away, A blue and red cat looked up. The wolves were out again, she would have to wait.
Chapter 1
Kimana padded out of her den and glanced around. I seemed as though the wolves had gone, but I never hurt to check. She began to pad steadily way from her den. She glanced back. Hopefully her mother wouldn't follow her. She wasn't at all friendly. Kimana began to run. She ran and ran and ran. After over 10 minutes of running, she stopped and looked around, then quickly dodged as a black she-wolf shot past. 'Well, I guess this is safe enough,' Kimana sighed.
Ice looked around. A black wolf padded past and smiled at him. Well at least she seemed nice enough. Summer could be a grouch all she wanted, wouldn't change a thing. He looked longingly back at his old den. The black wolf looked at him and cocked her head. "Are you alright?" she asked,"I'm Stream, Nice to meet you!" Ice sighed, the wolf seemed nice enough but summer... "No" Ice muttered aloud, "Summer doesn't matter." Stream started, "Who is Summer? You can talk to me, friend!" Stream encouraged. "I'm Ice, Summer was my mate, now, she hates me..."Ice sat down and hung his head.
"Will you stay with me?" he asked Stream. "As long as you need me, Ice." Stream replied.
Chapter 2
"I hope your doing well enough, Summer." a voice hissed from inside Summer's den.
"I did what you told me, now let me go!" Summer growled into the darkness.
"Now, I'm sorry Summer but that isn't possible, you might go back to Icesssssssssss," Hissed the voice.
Summer saw a flash of darkness zooming towards her before it all went black. She wasn't dead, she could tell, but floating in a black mist of some kind. She tried to move around, but her body wouldn't obey her. A force moved her jaws painfully.
"Sssssee, Summer? You will never be free," hissed the voice using her own mouth to speak. She seemingly watched as the creature moved using her body out of the den, carrying her with it.
Kimana poked her head out. She strode gingerly out her den. Time to hunt. She sniffed the air carefully. She noticed a strange scent in the air, but ignored it. She could fight for herself. There was also a mouse scent. Kimana followed that. Gently putting down paw after paw until she could bat it. She leaped towards the innocent mouse. Wham! The mouse hid as a wolf crashed into Kimana's side. It pinned her down. "Why are you here? " she growled,"Did the little kitty go for a stroll?" Kimana wasn't sure what to do. She waited for agony as she knew the wolf would attack. She imagined needle sharp teeth and waited for them, she yowled.
Ice looked up. A cat, yowling! He bounded towards it, not to be cruel, but to see what was wrong. He stopped in a clearing and glared at Summer. He flung himself at her. "Leave that cat alone, Summer, Your enemy is me!" he growled, the two wolves clawing at each other.
Stream didn't know how to help. So she padded over to the cat and sat down next to her. "Are you ok?" she asked.
"I'm a bit shaken but nothing is broken," Kimana stuttered, "My name is Kimana, thank you for helping me."
Stream nodded her head. "It was no problem, I'm Stream, and the wolf who saved you is Ice over there,"
Summer pinned Ice down,"I never loved you Ice, don't lie," it growled in a mechanical kind of voice.
Ice whined."Let me go, I'll find a new place to stay, I can't confront you now, but someday ill find you!" he growled. Getting up and padding over to Stream and Kimana, "Cmon, lets go, we can introduce ourselves later," The three animals padded away from summer.
