The Sweet and the Dead
- a collection of poems varying from sweet to deadly -

Useless Dreaming
My dream is that one day, you will fall in love with me
That one day, we will have a love that tops all others.

Now I don't want just some sappy romance
No, I want us to be in love
But I want it to be real, not fake
Not one of the staged romance novel-type loves
Those romances revolve around just the couple

Yet, in real life, one cannot stand alone with just one person
One must have others to fall back one if--
When their loved one fails to meet their needs
When their loved one cannot love them anymore

A sappy romance is all flowers and stars
Yet no one seems to realize just how impossible that is

A useless dream created by those who cannot stand on their own two feet
A useless dream that could never come true
And that is why, I may never dream again.
