'Cause this is thriller,Thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to strike
You know it's thriller, Thriller night
You're fighting for your life inside a killer thriller tonight

I slowly opened my sea blue eyes and looked down. My ipod was on full blast and dad's songs were put into loop. I sighed. I was so upset with mom and dad's deaths. Immediate pain came with the migraine as I sat up, realizing I had fallen asleep on the black leather couch once again. I looked at the TV and a home video of mom, dad, Prince, Blanket, and I flashed on the screen silently. I pushed back the dark blue cover that had been draped over me and swung my feet over the edge of the couch. I attempted to stand up, but hours upon hours of never ending, brutal concert rehearsals caused my knees to buckle right from underneath me. "Damn it." I cursed under my breath, reaching out to catch myself on the black leather couch. As soon as I realized what I had said, I cupped my mouth with my own hand and looked around. I wasn't supposed to cuss. I don't like it. It's not necessary. I shook my head and looked at the clock. There's no way grandma is up at 5:00 a.m. She gets up at 9:00. I rubbed a sore spot on the small of my back and walked to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed, throwing my straight brown hair into a messy bun and walked back to the kitchen, where I started making myself some breakfast. A creak in the floorboards caused me to look up and whirl around from the stove. A dark silhoutte took me by surprise, freezing and staring into my eyes. I slowly walked backwards, grabbed a baseball bat, and flipped on the lights. "Oh. It's you." I sighed in relief, seeing my older brother. I put the baseball bat away. Prince let out a low, quiet chuckle. "Who else would be up at 5:00 a.m.? We all know grandma doesn't get up until 9:00 and Blanket sleeps until grandma wakes him up." Prince said. "Don't ever scare me like that again." I said. "Okay. Sorry." He said, holding his hands up in defense and sitting at the dark mahogany table.

The dining room was pretty...I guess mom called it fancy. I mean, to me, it just looks like another dining room. The one back in our Los Angeles beach house was twice as fancy and big as this one was. Well, mom and dad did raise 14 kids. In three places on the dark mahogany table were bouquets of roses. Underneath them were delicate white table cloths grandma had sewn herself. All around the cream-colored walls were pictures of grandma, grandpa, dad, dad's siblings, and one was a picture of mom and dad's wedding picture. There was a glass case in the corner of the room, which held trophies, medals, and figurines. More pictures lined the glass top. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, but high enough so nobody hit their heads. Not even my dad's fourth oldest brother and he's 6'4. Dark mahogany chairs were pushed into the table, all with perfectly fluffed cushions.

I looked at mom and dad's wedding picture. They seemed really happy. Not that they didn't seem happy in all the other pictures. Mom was wearing her mom's wedding dress but it was a little big on her, so of course they had to lace it a little more around mom. Her curly, blondish-white hair fell to the middle of her back. The only makeup she had around her blue almost white eyes was mascara. Like her dad, mom was naturally pale. Mom was tall, standing at about 5'11. She was very thin due to her rarely being fed when she was little, a small bit of anorexia, a high metabolism, sports, concerts, and rehearsals. She was very strong, too. Dad was just wearing a tux. Strange. I've never seen him wear a tux before.

We've got something to believe in
Even if we don't know where we stand
Only God will know the reasons
But I bet he must've had a plan
'Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby I was made to be your man
'Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby I was made to be your man}}
