I stared and so did Lorenzo. There was men running around. They carried swords and some even rode on horses.
"Look!" said Lorenzo, pointing. "He's kicking butt!"
I spotted what he was pointing at. It was a boy. he had two short daggers and a detirmined look in his eye. There was something different about him. His eyes were.. SNAKE eyes!
"He's one of us!" I cried, then I took off running down the hill.
"Sara!" Lornezo cried.
I didn't stop. I kept running until I was dodging people left and right. I jumped high until I spotted the boy. He was on the ground staring up with dangerous looking eyes at the man who stood above him. I dashed over and did the move that seemed to be most effective on guys.
I kicked him between the legs and grabbed the boy. I grabbed sword from a fallen man and then sliced at an oncoming man.
"Quick!" The boy called. "We need to get out of here, NOW!!!"
I nodded and grabbed his hand and took one last giant leap, soaring through the air and landing on the ground at a shocked Lorenzo's feet.
"We need to go!" The boy cried pushing us over the hill and down to the ground.
"Why?" asked Lorenzo.
"Cause there is going to be an explo-"
BOOOOM!!!
I felt an immense heat wave fly aver us. When the heat cooled down a little bit, we peeked over the hill. There wasn't much left of the clearing.
I sat back. "How did you do that?"
The boy shrugged. "Daagon had dynamite in the cart I was meddling with. I simply set it on fire when he sent his men after me." Then he pouted. "Daagon still got away though..."
Lorenzo and I exchanged glances.
The boy smiled. "I'm Mike, by the way."
"Sara."
"Lorenzo." He shook his head. "Who is Daagon?"
"He is the man who rules over these people. He doesn't let them live in the modern world." Mike stood and brushed himself off. "He steals people in the night and does experiments on them. ONly, he blames the disappearances on animal-human beasts."
"That's why they attack us!" I gasped.
Mike nodded. "There are five of Daagan's headquarters. If we can destroy them, we can clear our name."
Lorenzo nodded. "We better get back to Melody and Brady."
I nodded and stood.
Mike grabbed a pack that I hadn't seen before.
"What's in there?" I asked.
He grinned mysteriously. "You'll see."
We walked back though the forrest, to where Melody was.
She got up and gave me a big hug. I hugged my best friend back.
Lorenzo went over and sat next to Brady, who was sitting up now. "You ok?"
He nodded.
Melody finally spotted MIke. "Who is he?"
MIke bowed. "Mike, at your service." He winked at her.
I rolled my eyes.
Mike explained Daagon to Melody and then told us that he knew where the first HQ was. "We can go, destroy his equipment and then get out of there before they even knew what happened!"
I nodded. "But, how will we destroy everything?"
Mike pulled off his pack. "That's what this was for." he pulled out the weapons, one by one. "Daagon had records on each of you, so I made a few things. Take your pick."
Lorenzo walked up and immediately grabbed a sword. "Sweet!"
Melody snatched a trident. She posed with it. "Fits me, doesn't it?" Then she laughed and halped Brady up.
He picked out a whip. He cracked it. "Down boy!" We all laughed.
I looked over. "My turn?" I kneeled next to the weapon. It was a bow. Next to it laid a few arrows. I picked it up and grinned.
Mike saw my pleasure and said, "I figured it would come in handy when you were in the air flying."
I turned away.
"Well!" interrupted Melody. "I think that it's time we got somewhere to settle down for the night. I have just the place."
* * *
"Here?" I asked.
"Yep." Melody nodded. "My guess is that it was an old fisherman's cabin. There are two cabins. Boys take your pick."
The boys to the bigger cabin because there was one more of them.
Melody and I sat on our cots and were giggling. We had lit a candle in the middle of the floor.
"Well," I said. "Lorenzo is cute."
"Really?" asked Melody. "I though that Mike was quite handsome!"
We both bursts out into a giggle fit. "I wonder what the boys are talking about." I asked.
"Do you think they are talking about us?" she said.

"Yeah and there was blood everywhere!" bragged Mike.
"Wow!" Brady's eyes were huge.
"Now explain to me," asked Lorenzo. "Why were you trying to slide down the mountain, again?"
