Doveflight streched and enjoyed the feel of the sun's rays on her back. She yawned and poked Brambletalon in the side. He leaped to his paws and purred, pressing against his mate. Doveflight's belly was starting to swell with her litter. She brushed her tail over Brambletalon's nose, who mock-bristled. Brambletalon padded slowly out of thier cleft and and into the sunny clearing. He bounded over and chose a mouse from the fresh-kill pile. He shook it around for fun, and his mother, Articfrost, stalked over and pressed her nose to his. "Now, what have I said about playing with your food?" she asked. Brambletalon ducked his head as he recived some gentle licks around his ears. He sped over to Doveflight and they crouched down to eat. Articfrost turned to see her kitten, Icykit, trot out of the nursery on unsteady paws. She let out a purr as she watched her tackle her father, Thorneyes. Thorneyes purred and let Icykit bring him to the ground. Brambletalon purred so much he couldn't speak and licked Doveflight over the ears. Cloudberry and Darkfrost sat lazily sharing tounges. Doveflight waved her tail in greeting. Doveflight's kits would be welcomed. Cloudberry nodded at her and Brambletalon dipped his head to Darkfrost. "we've gotta find you a place in the nursery!" Brambletalon licked his lips thoughtfully.

Brambletalon slowly led his mate into the nursery. Daisyfoot was there, nursing her two kits, Gingerkit and Swirlkit. She looked up and got to her paws, Gingerkit and Swirlkit gave a mewl of complainet. Daisyfoor shook her head. "they cannot stop!" she mewed, exasperated. "they eat more than a bunch of badgers, I tell you" she lay down again, but her kits were busy inspecting Doveflight. "More kittens?' Gingerkit squealed excitedly. "I made you a nest" Daisyfoot angled her ears to a cozy mossy nest lined with feathers. "That is so kind of you" Doveflight purred and sat down.

Cloudberry leaned over to whisper in Darkfrost's ear. "You know, we might have to wait until Doveflight is out of the nursery"she breathed. It pained her, yes, becasue Darkfrost was who she REALLY loved. He twitched his ear and stood up. "That's true" he flicked his tail. "But the more kits, the better" "we don't want to crowd the nursey" Cloudberry warned, drawing a pink paw over her ear. Darkfrost sighed. "You are right. But maybe?" he asked. Cloudberry purred "Okay, I'll think about it sooner"
