      the one who walks with a storm in their heart,
      light on their paws, optimist in times of the dark
      keep on cheering for the new leader of iceclan,
      for he will save us with the help of his plan.

extract from "Life is a Roller-Coaster"

Postby blue neighbourhood » Fri Oct 23, 2015 9:02 am

    An extract from Life is a Roller-Coaster [Inspired by Zoe Sugg's Girl Online & Girl Online: On tour]

      "Would you please give me a minute?" Daniel asked his friends behind the stage. "Me and Alexis, that is." I looked up to my pop-star-with-gorgeous-brown-eyes-boyfriend, a hint of confusion glittering in my eyes.
      "Okay, but be quick. You're up in forty five minutes and we're nowhere near ready," Daniel's manager, Riley, fretted.
      "Right," Daniel sighed. "I'll be quick."
      Once everyone else had left, Daniel looked up at me, suddenly looking pale white. "I don't know if I can do this."
      "What?!" That is the thing that I was least expecting to hear from Daniel. He was a talented and famous American singer - Daniel Brynne - who had the most beautiful soft voice, smoother than butter. I first met him when he was singing Troye Sivan's TFIOS song - which is amazing by the way! - at the beach in the early evening of last July in Ohio. He's originally from New York, and lives with his mum and little sister Phoebe. The blonde boy even wrote a song for me - Penguin Babe, which is a huge insider, we're not weird!
      Dragging myself back to reality, I blinked. "What do you mean? Daniel, I'm so confused..."
      "I mean, I can't do this," he whispered, his eyes filling with tears. "I haven't sung in front of over fifty people - nevermind five thousand! - since dad died... Alexis, when I say I can't do this, I mean I can't. My stomach is in knots, my heart is pounding, my head is spinning.." I rested my head on his chest, desperately searching for some words of comfort, and, indeed, I felt his heart hammering like a drum. "Oh, Daniel..."

    A second extract from Life is a Roller-Coaster [Inspired by Zoe Sugg's Girl Online & Girl Online: On tour]

      That night, me and Daniel were cuddled up in my fleece blanket, curled up on the hotel's bed watching Elf. Despite it being at the end of October, it was so relaxing and it got us ready for Christmas early.
      I rested my head once again on Daniel's chest, his heartbeat about ten times slower than previously when he was going on stage. He chuckled here and there when Buddy did something stupid on Elf, or whenever one of us cracked a terrible joke. "Remember that time when you downed a bottle of lemonade?" I asked, recalling my birthday on the last day of June. "You nearly spued it all up again afterwards!"
      "So worth it though," Daniel muttered, his eyes lighting up with amusement. "And if I recall, it did come up?" With that, we were both left laughing and imitating it with our glasses of Fanta. The best part about it was the choking that started afterwards, with Daniel swallowing the most. As I'd recovered from it but he was only half way through, I ran my fingers through his chocolate brown hair, trying to hold back my laughter. When he still didn't stop, I hit his back twice, and giggled, "Better?"
      Between coughs, he choked up in his best sarcasm, "Yes. Thanks a ton."
      "Hey!" I retorted, grinning from ear to ear. "At least you've stopped choking."
      "Fair enough," Daniel laughed, with a light kiss on the forehead.

the dog that changed me

Postby blue neighbourhood » Mon Nov 09, 2015 8:38 am

      xoxotwo thousand and seven was when it began,
      our father had passed from God's plans
      it was a hard time for a year or so;
      we had come home from school, feeling quite low
      but mum had us a little surprise;
      her excitement was covered with a frown; a disguise
      it was only when we put down our bags when we saw,
      a black and white leg, a black and white paw
      me and my brother exchanged a glance,
      him, who was younger, beginning to prance
      we raced over and lifted up the throw;
      and underneath was a puppy with a purple-spotted bow
      a border collie, skye was her name;
      and now, seven years later, dog-owning is still our game
      skye is as happy as can be,
      we watched her growing up, becoming not-so-wee
      took her to the vets when she needed it the most,
      maybe even gave her a tiny bit of toast
      our baby was becoming a big mature collie,
      hanging with her best friend, mollie
      and now, our family can all agree,
      that this was the dog that changed me

remembrance day

Postby blue neighbourhood » Sat Nov 14, 2015 11:13 am

      1914-1918, the four years that changed lives
      left us grieving; parents, children, wives
      you did it for our country, our honour, our pride
      there is no way to repay you, trust me, we've tried

      one of those people were you, 'sunny',
      mum told us about your stories, so funny
      we heard that you were always a joy to see
      if only i met you, that would complete me

      it's hard to miss someone you never knew
      but i have to remember that you're family too
      if only it was four years earlier, we would have met
      i miss you, although mum says not to fret

      i hope you watch over me, mum and sean
      guarding us from dusk till dawn
      i won't stop thinking about you and what you had done
      after all, to us you were the sun
