SandWhisper growled. How dare this, this bird, attack his home? Hackles rising, the brown, speckled (creature?) snarled and curled his lips back to make his fangs look larger. The large bird struck out with a huge foot, but SandWhisper was quicker and ducked to side. He retaliated by launching himself at the ostrichs neck, claws unsheathed. (yeah, I just realised dogs can't do that ><!) Uttering a bloodcurdling scream, the bird collapsed, a fountain of blood welling up at the base of his neck. Just then, the young male jackal (?) peered closer, and saw a strange necklace buried in the thick black and White plumage. Ignoring the stench of decay, he reached in and gently pulled it out, teeth clasped round the fine chain.
