~I Eat Rainbows~ wrote:Alright, a few things first. I asked for Curled Ears and Double Fluffy TailThey are on their own labeled layers. And now you need to learn about lock alpha...
It's really simple, on the "Colour Here!" Layer, you click the layer so that you are colouring on it, but instead of just going ahead and colouring, there are a few things at the top of the little box with the layers, and you will see a little check box that says "Lock Alpha" click on the box, then you will never colour out of the lines ever again! Now tomorrow I'm going to close shop for a little while to finish requests, and I will be adding separate shading and coloring layers for all the tails and ears, that will make it much easier on not only other artists but on me aswell for I have to colour carefully and restate every time! XD
Now enough blabbering from me, but I would also like to suggest something else, instead of just doing straight lines for stripes, change the paint tool to be on a soft circle [I forget the name]. Also, try making the stripes more realistic, more alike the shape instead of just straight lines. Because as you see on the picture, the stripes on the cat's forehead aren't perfectly straight, they are somewhat curved. And another idea, once you are happy with the stripes and you Did it using the normal paint tool, not soft just hard edged use the "Drip" Tool! Click on the drip tool, then make the size all the wy to 200, then click and hold and spread it over the whole cat as if you were coloring it! It will soften the colours and the straight edged lines to be a little softer and nicer, you can repeat that over and over until it's as soft as you like!
I really hope this all helped, and try editing this one with these tips in mind and I'll see how you've improved! Once you try again with these tips and you really get it I'd be happy to accept you as an artist!I'm sorry if I'm being harsh but I'm being honest and I don't want to lie and not help at all.
if you have any questions at all just ask me, and I can answer most questions!
