You pad across the snow, knowing a new year has come. Your pack has never really celebrated the new year, but you do feel the need to walk away and take in the scents. You know things don't really smell different just because the year has changed, but...you can't help yourself.

It's as you're walking in the stillness that you realize there's a sort of energy in the air. Pricking your ears, you start to hear noises of cats calling to one another. You make your way to the edge of your territory, and then go beyond it. You start to smell something strange. It smells like a whole group of Snow Cats, has a pack moved in?

As you get further in, a Snow Cat with a dark coat and bright markings stops you. "My name is Firework," they say. "I'm the Commander for the New Beginnings Pack. You're a Commander too, I can see your marking. Would you be willing to come with me and help my pack get settled?"

You think of your own pack, and ask "How long is this going to take?"

Firework laughs "Oh not long at all, I just had some questions, and you don't even need to stay the night, you'll be back with your pack in a few hours at most. Though you'd always be welcome to come back and talk with us."

You study him, then nod finally "Alright, I'll go with you."

Firework beams "Great! Come on this way, the camp is right over here...."

New Year New Beginnings is a lore-driven event, however the challenges and tasks will not be revealed until the 27th of January when the event begins.

Despite being lore-driven, this is still a SCAR event, which means there will be a storyline you must follow as the event proceeds. The storyline for this event centers around a new set of NPCs, the New Beginnings Pack. This is the first you'll see them, but this won't be the last

At the end of the event, some of the NPCs will be available to be adopted by the Pack they feel the most drawn to, so be sure to take part in the festivities!

Here's how to play:

When the event opens, you'll want to go and talk to Firework, he'll have some various quests for you to do. After you complete them, take them to the appropriate section (which will vary depending on your task) and fill out the form you will find waiting for you, and show off your work.

As you progress in the event, you'll unlock new challenges and new quests. But keep going, because there'll be a great reward for the three people who make it farthest in the event!

Sometimes, flavor text will change on character's profiles, so be sure to keep an eye out for that, you might just get something secret!
