Melanie likes to spend a lot of her time at the beach, either listening to the waves or watching the little pups play in the surf. At night, if she isn't able to sleep, she will sit where the waves just barely wash over her paws and gaze at the night sky. The glow of the night sky reminds Melanie of the glow of Apricot's personality. Apricot believes that Melanie without a beach is like a sky without a sun. But what Apricot doesn’t know is that Melanie considers them as her greatest treasure. Melanie would truly put her life before Apricot’s, even if they wouldn’t do the same.
