Duststorm raced through the unknown forest, his lungs burning and his legs nearly numb from the frantic running. He had to warn them!

Not two days ago the patrols had noticed strange activity near their forest border. They scented dogs, usually this wasn't major as the clan grew adapted to chasing a few out of their territory. However, this time was different. A strange sickly sweet smell of sickness clung to the air.

The dogs had lost the last remaining threads of sanity and now stood as emotionless forces of nature. After a battle to chase them away failed, Stormstar himself lured the dogs off the clans territory. Everything was going well, until the dogs changed course. The pack headed towards the forest. Stormstar was exhausted but wanted to warn the other clan of the danger, that's when Duststorm volunteered to go.

He made it to their camp, he had succeeded!

Lizardclaw stepped confidently through the barrier around the strange Clan's makeshift camp. He was stopped abruptly by a guard, a tall tabby she-cat.

"Who are you?" she demanded. "What are you doing here?"

Lizardclaw blinked, then gave the guard a shrug. She snarled.

"Fine, I'm Lizardclaw," he said coolly. "I'm just, you know, checking the place out. Seeing who you guys are."

The guard raised an eyebrow. "I can't let you just walk into our camp- aren't you from that Clan over the river... JuniperClan?"

Lizardclaw sighed. "Yeah, but I dunno. I'm not liking things there so much right now."

"So what brings you here?"

"A bunch of my Clanmates fell for this ridiculous story about StarClan choosing this stupid barn cat to be our new leader, and now she's trying to change everything. She keeps going on and on about 'returning to the Warrior Code' and other nonsense. Things were just fine until she came along," he added darkly.

"That still doesn't explain why you're here," said the guard.

"Sure it does," said Lizardclaw. "I'm just checking to see if things are any better with you guys."

The guard narrowed her eyes. "It sounds to me like you're just another intruder," she growled. "The Code demands that I remove intruders from our territory."

Lizardclaw rolled his eyes. "Geez, again with the stupid Code! It's all a little outdated, don't you think?"

"I think you should leave," growled the guard.

Lizardclaw shrugged. "Yeah, I think you're right. You guys have things just as backwards as JuniperClan."

Prompt;; "Come on, it has to be here somewhere! Icewing said so!" The young she-cat frantically started looking around the territory that felt so different, yet similar to her own.

The pine trees, while similar to her oak trees, giving off lots more shade than the lighter trees.
This place felt shadowy, eerie. But she had to be here and she wouldn't give that up just for the sake of feeling a little scared.

Clan cat lives were at stake here. She had to work fast.
The sooner she found the herb, the better.

"Why does this mouse-brained plant have to only grow in the pine forest?" Sandstone whined to herself, ears flicking in annoyance. It just had to be straight in the scariest forest of the territory. It spooked her way more than she'd like to admit at times.

"And just what do you think you're doing here?" A loud hiss echoed right behind the young she-cat as she whipped around to face it. Shock clear in her expression at first, soon to be replaced with worry and desperation.

"Please Nala, I need to find these herbs that icewing told me to find. It's for the sake of my clanmates. Some could get very sick and even die without them. Please, I'm begging you." The desperation in her eyes shone through to the older she-cat, who tilted her head in confusion.

Sandstone gave Nala a brief description of the herb she needed, before the two trodded up to the plant, taking a few leaves. Sandstone was sure to leave the territory as soon as possible, so she didn't get her ears clawed by Nala but also to make sure she arrives back in time.

Thankfully, she was able to make it back and save her clanmates from the fatal greencough. (300 words exactly)
