Good deed (300 words or one art piece) - The brightly coloured tsukai watched the small bird flutter away, grinning even as sharp nails dug into his foot. "That bird probably has family somewhere. It's nesting season right now." The kitten, ignoring his words, continued her assault on his leg. "Raw food tastes horrible anyway." He continued, starting to walk and dragging the ensnared kit along. Her teeth were sharper than he'd expected. He was accumulating scratches at the same rate as regrets. Why, of all scenarios, did he choose to rescue that bird?
Before his leg could be shredded into ribbons, Leo quickly rummaged through his bag to find something, anything to distract the tiny cat. A sandwich! With...yes, ham inside! He dangled the pale slice above the kitten, and catching her attention, he dropped it an arm's length away. The kit pounced on the meat and started eating, and released, Leo started to slowly shuffle away. That was two good deeds in a day. Maybe Fortune would look favourably on him now, and his streak of bad luck would stop. Just as he thought that, he felt nails sink into his tender ankle, and wishing it was just the sensation of pins and needles and not the actual cat, he looked down. Two bright yellow eyes looked back. At least she appeared to be happier; she went from trying to murder his leg to merely causing him pain. Her claws were digging deeper though, probably impatient for another slice. He won't make it home at this rate.
