though she totally was just shooed away from the docks, shark was right when he said that she hadn't checked out many of the local shops yet. Sure, she popped into the bar a decent amount for some drinks, but that was still on the ship. Maybe the tiki bar would be promising?

She swung around the corner past the general store (which she had been in many times to refill on sunscreen, it was much cheaper than on the ship), and headed past some clothing stores, shaking her head. She had enough trouble lugging her suitcase around now, who KNEW what would happen if she added a load of Hawaiian shirts to the mix.

As she crossed the street, she couldn't help but notice a more secluded shop, one hanging off to the corner. Its lights were turned low, and she was almost positive it was closed, until she saw some movement through the window, and then the door swung open. A bit frightened as any reasonable person would be, she balked for a moment, but ended up going in.

She was met with a soft voice that called out to follow it, and she brushed past a shell curtain into an exceedingly dark room. Suddenly, it lit up with light, rays of rainbow thrown all over the room, in every direction imaginable. Now that the lights were on, she could see it was a glass studio, and all of these gorgeous items were handmade trinkets, perfect for catching the sun.

Of course, because the were sick as hell, she ended up buying one piece for herself, and 2 more- 1 for each of her friends as a little souvenir.

Prompt Nine: What do they buy and who is it for?

Wandering around aimlessly, Allison checked the shop windows without much interest. She wasn't much for souvenirs or gifts, it just felt like a waste of money most of the time. The island did have some interesting shops and items, in particular the shops with food and items depicting culture and lore from the island. None of the items she'd found so far were of much interest however, and she was getting quite bored. She was contemplating checking out one of the food shops for a snack when one store caught her eye.

Inside, she could see... sparkles. Like, a lot of sparkles. All manner of items were sparkling in there, from bottles and gems, to shells and smooth stone carvings. Allison wasn't usually much for sparkly stuff, but the sheer amount of shine and glam in there tempted her to check it out. Since she didn't have anything better to do, she went inside.

Her eyes almost hurt from the lights reflecting off of items everywhere. She took a moment to let her eyes adjust, before looking around the shelves. There were small statues resembling a tiny deer with crystal antlers- hey wait a minute! She recognised that lil creature! It's the darn scamp that had tripped her up in the woods! Allison had to leave those shelves alone before her irritation came bubbling back up and she ruined something in the store. Continuing on, she found small bottles containing sand and sparkly gems, shells and other items. The sand looked pristine, and didn't move when the bottle was moved about. It was most likely glued in place. On a shelf next to the bottles, carved gems and stones could be found, but those weren't what finally caught her attention. In the back of the store, there was a shelf of seashells. They weren't the sparkly and pretty kind, like the ones near the entrance to the store. They were just... plain, or coloured with some delicate works of art. Her eyes were drawn to two shells in particular: one white, with purple and blue spots on it, and one dark purple with dark blue stars on it. They reminded her of her dad's...

Allison left the store, carrying the two shells she had just bought. The shop owner seemed surprised she didn't want something fancier, but she was happy with her find. She planned on giving them to her brother, that energetic moron... she knew he missed their dads a lot, as he always did when they were away, so perhaps the shells would be a small measure of comfort. Allison set off to find her brother, and deliver her gifts.

Cas was thankful to go out and enjoy his day. No tasks for the boat! He could do whatever he wanted! Normally he'd find comfort alone, toes in the water, but right now? He needed the thrill of shopping. Buying things and spending money, especially on someone else.

Casimir wandered into the small shop. Not even the wooden walls and lit candles could take the smell of salt out of the air, not that Cas really cared one way or the other. He was a sailor, after all, and was used to the smell of water. He smiled as he moved to one far corner where he noted various gems and necklaces and other types of jewelry. He wasn't particularly big on jewelry himself, but a certain necklace caught his eye. And maybe it was the fascination with keys that made him do it, but he bought the necklace. A simple chain with a single small silver key attached. Nothing particularly fancy.

Cas smiled at the key as he let the chain slide over his fingers. He loved keys a lot, and he loved his boyfriend a lot. It was symbolic, he told himself. The key was something he loved but it also was a 'you hold the key to my heart' kind of thing. Not that he would tell that to Kallam. That was mushy and he wasn't like that!! Not at all!!

After Shark told Mac "Begone mortal", or..something like that..
Mac once again, turned to his newfound favorite activity,
beach walking.

"Shop around town." Mac repeated Shark's words, grumpily as he walked slowly, with his head down, hands in his pockets.
He remembered Bob the bird, and the weird pizza singing, and suddenly realized how this trip is slowly coming to an end. He sighed, and decided to sit down, and watch the sea for a while.

"Soon, I'll go back to faking my life.. I wish I could stay here." He sighed and kicked sand with his leg.
Feeling defeated for who knows what time so far, he stood up, clapped his hands, exclaiming
"Fine. Make the people happy. Buy something. Shopping it is!"

Just when he was about to turn around, to go back to the docks, a sudden noise scared him.
It was coming from the weird forest.
"I hope it's not the mermaids again. I hope my crocs were worth it." Remembering all the good times he had with his crocs, he shed a tear, only one, no use in crying now.

"Wait they don't have legs, it can't be them-" He cautiously walked towards the woods. Another noise, rustling.
He examined the area carefully, finally noticing a large wooden sign with red letters that said "SaLE".
The letters were freshly painted as the paint was still dripping from the sign.

Mac furrowed his brows in confusion, and shrugged saying "Shopping is shopping, no matter where."
He walked closer to the sign and found two more signs, this time arrows, pointing away from the woods, down the beach again, there he found even more arrows.

He followed them all, and finally found a lone rock, that had a sign "SaLE" put against it.
"..please tell me they're not selling the rock."

Seemingly out of nowhere, a voice was heard, "Hey, kid, pssst, heey!".
Mac looked up and saw a cloaked person, they slowly walked towards Mac.
"I uh- am helping your economy. What are you selling?" Mac said, and glanced at the rock.
-"Well kid, I have a fine collection of rocks."

Mac sighed, rolling his eyes, holding a credit card in his hand "Fine, fine, here have this and just give me th-" The cloaked person interrupted Mac "No kid, hey! You think this isn't serious business?! This is insulting! You gotta look at my collection, and carefully pick one! Do you even know how hard it is to collect these rocks?!"
Mac sighed again, putting the credit card back into his pocket.
"Come here now!" The cloaked person said and quickly rushed behind some huge rocks. Mac slowly walked over, to find two buckets with an old plank on it, and yet another "SaLE" sign.

"Okay kid, here!" They said, and seemingly out of nowhere, with just a move of their hand, rocks appeared on the plank. Mac's eyes grew wide, as he noticed fossils in every rock. Jackpot.
"Wow." Mac whispered, staring at the pure, dead beauty of ancient animals.
He flipped the credit card out "I'm buying it all, thanks"

The cloaked person gently turned the card down "Kid, do you really think we accept credit cards? I mean, I've never even seen a credit card!" Mac looked confused, as the figure continued "Cash only." Mac's heart suddenly dropped, the thoughts of helping the economy were gone, he patted his pockets, and alas- "I have.. a quarter." he said, ashamed, and defeated yet again.

The cloaked person suddenly jumped, happily, taking the quarter "Wowie!! Kid! I always wanted one of these!!" Mac stared in disbelief. "You all just come here, with your credit cards and paper money, that all means nothing to me. This, this is what I want!" Mac shrugged replying "That- That isn't worth anything-"

The cloaked person nodded their head "True. Gotta think of the economy." with one movement of their hand, the rocks with fossils were gone, and only a small trilobite fossil remained. Mac took the fossil, examining it closely.

He raised his head, but the cloaked person was gone, confused he looked down, the buckets and the planks were all gone, all that remained, was a badly written "SaLE" sign. Mac smiled, and looked at his fossil again.
"Uh.. Thanks!" he said, and slowly walked towards the beach again, going back to the docks.
He would always look for the signs, but all were gone, all he found was a paintbrush, tipped with red paint.

"A nice fan for me, because it's really hot out here!!"

Aderyn sighed softly. She wasn’t interested in shopping- normally she’d be elated to browse various knick knacks and useless oddities- not to mention vintage furniture and beautiful dresses.. but today, under these circumstances? She was far too nervous about the boat having broken down to do anything of the such.
Passing by a little store with no sign- solely a colorful feather logo out front, however, she was intrigued. As she entered the door, she saw various colorful avians, trapped in tiny cages. Her heart broke for the creatures she was so fond of- being a bird demigoddess and all. Instantly, Aderyn knew she had to save them- but wasn’t quite sure how. She could speak with them of course, formulate a plan.. or buy them all. Turning to a vibrant parrot on her right, trying not to look suspect, she whispered, “Hello dear- any ideas as to how I might free you from this wretched prison?” His eyes seemed to twinkle, as if amuses she was able to have an exchange with him. After a glance at the shop owner, the parrot spoke, quietly, “No.. I’ve tried everything.. nobody ever visits the island- I’ve been here for years.” She looked at him sadly, and headed over to the cash register and owner with a gulp. “Er- well, I know this is odd, but how much for all of the birds you have?” The shopkeeper frowned at her, his grey, wrinkled brow lowering suspeciciously. “I- I’m serious,” she murmured softly, getting a bit anxious. He finally sighed, and with a slight frown still on his features, he stated blatantly- “probably about 1000 pieces.. dollars.. whatever in your money- or is take gold.” Nodding, she pulled out a large sack of coins, placing it on the table as he looked upon it in awe. With a brow raised, he fetched the skeleton key that worked for all of the cages, handing it too her and greedily snatching the money bag from off the counter, heading into some back room. Gleefully, Aderyn freed the birds, one by one.
(That would be really bad for the environment but for the story’s sake let’s just pretend it’s not ;w;)
