What's the first thing they want to do on the island?

Pip (i'm a non-owner) wasn't sure what he wanted to do. All he wanted to do was to follow the schedule the cruise had. Having freedom seemed strange to him. There were so many options! Yet not enough time to do them all! After mulling his options over a bit, Pip decided he would ask a local what their favorite thing to do on the island is!

He walked up to a local, and asked the local what their favorite thing to do on the island was. However, all he got were looks of confusion. (wip)

Clemencio's eyes widened as they looked over the map. The vast array of activities
had their mind racing, would they be able to get everything done? Maybe they'd go
collect his camera to take photos of everything as he went. Beaming up to Carcharodon.

"Thank you Sir!"

Scampering off back to the boat to collect a multitude of things. A bag and within that bag,
a notebook, pens, the map, his camera, some snacks... Yes. That should be more than enough
to get through as many activities as possible. Walking back to the island, he settled down,
laying out the map, pinning it down on each corner with a couple of rocks as they opened
their notebook.

"Whale watching first! Then maybe a visit to the tide pools. I definitely wanna try surfing..."

Scribbling down the list of where he wanted to go and in what order, by the time he had
finally figured it out, the sun was setting slowly. Eyes travelling away from his notebook
he sighed, falling back onto the grass. Relaxing in the breeze as he watched the sun dip
down under the ocean. Packing things back into his bag, Clemencio wondered down
towards the beach, looking to the bright burning bon fires that had been lit along the
length of the beach. Shaking off the disappointment of not getting to do any of what he
had planned.

Tomorrow.
Tomorrow he would be able to get everything done.

But for now, he could enjoy the atmosphere of late night bon fires and the stars up above.
It had been awhile since he had taken the time to look at the stars.
Tomorrow would be here soon enough, but for now, he'd appreciate the rest of today.

I stare down at the map. Eek. It's old, crumpled, and ripped. It looks like it's been folded thousands of times. It's a bit surprising that they haven't updated these. How could everything have stayed the same?

I keep looking at the map, wondering to myself if I'm reading it upside down, only to find out I actually am (I went on the cruise for a reason, I didn't expect to read maps!) I turn it around and I still can't understand a thing because of the horrendous ink smudged everywhere.

I let out a deep sigh. I should be thankful. I've docked on a tropical island (not an iceberg)! I'm very lucky, even my friends will be jealous.

"Ow!" A flyer from the middle of nowhere lightly cuts my arm. I take a look at my arm, thankfully not bleeding, and the flyer. It's about a fine restaurant. Oh I love food. I realized I hadn't eaten since the whole cruise incident. "Yes, flyer!" I whisper to the paper (ok it was kind of weird and I saw this guy watching me but I ignored it) "You will take me to my destiny: food!"

A wave of yells and claps crescendo as the chefs wave shrimp, crab, and other absolutely delicious looking food. A few whiffs of fire blaze in the air. I look as scared as a little kid, but the food, presentation, and pretty much everything looks amazing.

I ate so much. Too much maybe? I figure that this is an exception. I video call my friend and she's telling me to calm down, but there's a whole other bowl of rice that I still want to eat. "I don't know if I'll ever be this lucky again" I say, adding rice to my plate. "I don't think I want to leave after all!"

What's the first thing they want to do on the island?

Kairos was exhausted, after a long day on the cruise she had slept little more than three hours before she had to get up and do something. She felt like she wouldn't be getting her money's worth out of this vacation if she wasted time with rest. Now it was surely catching up with her, and she'd never felt more aggravated by it. However she stared at the map in her hands like it was the most interesting thing in the world, and vaguely pointed at a random place on the map.

It read TidePools and kairos didn't really feel like arguing with her decision, so she folded the map, stuffed it in her pocket and began the journey to the tidepools. When she arrived she noted silently the sheer amount of kalons that had also chose to flock here for their free day. Regretting her decision, since she had always been cautious of crowds, kairos weaved in and out of frolicking kalons and found a nice spot on the opposite end of the cove. Gingerly she seated herself, her gaze falling on the rippling water of a rather small pool, within it held an ecosystem as diverse and wonderful as her own. Though partially, kairos feared this was her foggy brain speaking, but she could have swore she saw an infinite amount of beauty in that pool the moment she looked in. Kairos couldn't feel herself looking away, it was far too beautiful to just leave like this, with so many kalons up and about.

Her eyes widened however, as kairos came to the realization that other tide pools might be in danger. Some kalons were clumsy, and could easily step into a tidepool without any care, oblivious to the destruction they had just caused to the life within! Kairos rushed clumsily to her feet, careful to give the tidepool a wide area before sprinting towards the other ones, occasionally she left a respectful kalon alone, who was merely watching the tide pool. However anyone with their hands in the pool or around it would be smacked away by kairos, who looked more like an insane lunatic than a cruise member. Never once did it occur to her that she might be ruining someone else's vacation, it was only about the tide pools from that moment out. It took a while but someone was finally called and escorted kairos away, who kicked and screamed about how the "tidepools need to be saved." To no avail they threw her out of the tidepool area. At least now kairos knows to get more sleep, lest she suffer a similar accident in the future.

Eleanor held the map up in one hand, the other planted firmly on her hip. As per habit, she read and reread all the little labels about three times before she was satisfied that she had seen all the options. Racing, hunting, cooking, surfing... All these things sounded exciting. She couldn't choose just one. She decided she would have to pick something with multiple aspects. Cooking was just cooking. Surfing was just surfing. Something like the scavenger hunt would be that and also sightseeing and exploring, so perhaps that? Or maybe she could do snorkeling and take some neat photographs while she swam. No, she thought she liked the idea of exploring best. Scavenger hunt it was. She folded the map and shoved it into her back pocket before thanking Shark and heading back to the boat to change and grab some supplies.

She put on some knee-high socks, her hiking boots, a tank-top, and her sunhat. In her bag she placed a canteen, compass, sunscreen, and camera. Satisfied with her pack, Eleanor headed into town to pick up the checklist for the scavenger hunt. She grinned as she scanned the list. Sure enough, she would be getting her workout and seeing quite a bit of the island as she went around collecting what she was looking for. Just what she needed to keep herself entertained.

A sigh escaped Prince as he rubbed his eyes, sitting up slowly. He rolled out of the bed, tripping as he fumbled around the dark room to find the light switch. The islanders had finally found a way to bust the ice from the ship, and docked it by the island. Shark was still working on fixing its engine, so the cruise goers wouldn’t be going anywhere for awhile. Prince digs through his suitcase for an outfit, settling for bright red really short shorts, and a white button up. Prince very carefully brushed his curls, adding some mascara because honestly? He loves it. He checked himself in the mirror before heading out, thinking he could find some other cruise goers to hang out with. The ship was already a ghost town when he left, feet sinking into the warm sand as he stepped from the ship. Prince padded across the beach, watching some of the cruise goers enjoy the sand and beautiful water. The excitement on the beach was a little too much for him, and he padded past the crowd. Prince continued to explore the island, stopping by all the spots he already knew. The tide pools didn’t seem right, nor did beach combing. He even visited the professor, but that didn’t catch Prince’s interest either. He was about to give up and go back to the ship to sleep when something caught his eye. It wasn’t much, just a small place in the edge of the trees. He padded slowly into the tiny clearing between the tall trees. Sand met solid ground where Prince sat beneath the tall shadows, much cooler away from the sun’s rays. Calming sounds echoed throughout the trees behind him, birds singing in the high branches. Prince had a perfect view of the ocean, the wild waves beating onto the sand. Prince sat in the calming alcove, the quiet surrounding him in a blanket of serenity.

Prompt two: What's the first thing they want to do on the island?

Finally shaking off her brother, Allison looked at the map she'd gotten her hands on, sitting down on a convenient rock while doing so.
Opening the map up proper, she took a look at the different things on the island.

The tidepools seemed interesting. She did enjoy watching critters scuttle about in the water and on the sand, but... she didn't feel like wading about in the shallow water right now, with the (slight but present) stress of the water coming back in. So... not the tidepools.

The whale watching spot had been recommended to her, and although it seemed interesting as well, she felt like doing something more active right now. Being on the cruise itself wasn't all that exhilarating, although relaxing, so she felt like taking the opportunity to stretch her legs a bit or just do... SOMETHING.

She didn't like being near forests and woods, so getting closer to the treeline was a nope for now. But... a bit further up the beach, there seemed to be a prime spot for snorkeling.

Allison's eyes lit up. Snorkeling! That was perfect, she'd get to relax in the water but still move about, all the while watching the beautiful fish swim about! With as much excitement and Allison can ever muster, she packed her map and set off to see if anyone had some snorkeling gear to lend her. Time to swim!
