Moons ago, the five warrior clans, ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, and SkyClan were destroyed by a massive storm. A tornado tore through the territories, and a massive forest fire ran through ThunderClan. The cats who were able to escape alive fled. With the remaining cats, StarClan contacted many warriors, even kittypets, to create new clans. If their plan failed, the warrior code may just be lost forever.

He had been half-dead with thirst. His mate had already died, and their only kit would be going the same way soon if he didn't find water. He can remember clearly the burning of the sand beneath his paws and the sun on his back, and the weight of his exhausted, thirsty kit in his mouth. And his own thirst.

As they came to the top of a great dune, he felt a breeze ruffle his fur. A breeze, a real one, cool and relieving and smelling of water. And Dunebreeze- just Dune, back then- had known then that he and his kit would be okay. He took his name as a reminder of the perilous journey he took before ending up in RippleClan.

Her eyes reflected a reality that no one but her seemed privy to. They glowed like the early morning sun, but remained distant.

Like the horizon, she would not, could not be reached.

The first words I ever spoke to her were met with frigid silence. At the tip of her snowdrift, all I could feel was the wind against my back, urging me away. She would not welcome me, that day.

Those who got close to her knew a wildly different she-cat than I.

One who speaks little, but has the biggest heart for her settlement. Well-rooted loyalty, like the most eternal mountains.

One where warmth lay within the deeply-buried pockets of her heart. A refuge, to wait out the harshest storms.
