-----------------------------------------
dew padded along the forest trail, humming. she closed her eyes, enjoying the humid air brush against her fur. she looked to one side, and she saw oak and maple and birch and holly, the mild, dusky hue of the air tinting the colors of the growth a nice calm color. she tilted her head slightly, and the light caught her eye. the golden rays of sun glowed radiantly, like honey dripping across a slanted surface, sparkling.
dew blinked. she tilted her head down and watched her white paws follow each other. the forest floor, a collection of colors melted together, darkened slightly by the rain earlier, blurred as she strolled. she swished her tail and sniffed, and suddenly the air grew sterile and dry. she looked up, and she was planted in the middle of the golden moor, in rogue territory.
she froze, eyes wide. a rustling in the grasses turned her head to the right, and a single, ragged rogue was pelting towards her. she crouched down, puffing up her pelt and bristling. her tail made its way straight up into the air, puffed as well. her ears back, she bared her fangs and snarled a vicious snarl that sprayed saliva over a fox length of the moor.
she snarled a second time, as a warning, but the mangy cat still hurtled towards her. as the rogue met her, they collided in a flurry of yowls and shrieks, snarling and hissing. a minute or so into the fight, she pinned the panting rogue to the ground. dew raked her claws across their belly, the rogue's wild eyes glazing over, eventually passing out. she jumped up and sprinted back to her own territory.
