This Vole resides in an 'abandoned' mansion where a wealthy couple once lived.
He keeps the incredibly massive property immaculately cleaned and well-kept, though he never ventures outside.
Within him resides the ghost of a Butler who did his best to do a good job in the home, and a good job he did. However, the husband of the wealthy couple was incredibly jealous of him, and, thinking that this very same Butler had romantic feelings for his wife, plotted his demise.
When the couple had their first child, a Vole was purchased for them, as it was the popular thing at the time. This Vole was simple, but special edition, for it was a spooky vampire model. Their child was none too gentle with the model however, and soon, the screen was broken. Cast out, it was tossed in the trash to never be seen again.
One evening, while the child was away visiting grandparents, the ghost of the tossed-away butler found the doll. Just like him, it too had been tossed out and left to rot. Willingly fusing with it's broken body, the Butler arose, a newfound body to do his bidding.
What happened that weekened was unknown to the police. However, with the mansion willed to, mysteriously, the doll of all things, they could do nothing but give the child to the grandparents and close up the Mansion, leaving it to rot underneath a "doll's" care.
Dimitri is a tired Vole; he cleans and he cleans and he cleans. He cleans to not think on the past and what he has done, and what the man he got rid of had done to him. He cleans to forget his past life, and all that was left behind. He cleans to ignore the hunger, gnawing at him from the inside out. He cleans and reminds himself not to go outside, so he may not hunt again.
