- Always making inside jokes for her and Arcane

boop boop boop

Arcane and Ruth are the greatest of friends, it seems. Always with each other and more inside jokes than items in their house, they have such a bond that they even have become the "Candy Thieves" of their neighborhood. Every Halloween they go through their neighborhood, robbing people of their candy and bolting away. Nobody even knows their identity, Ruth simply known as "Trickster" and Arcane "False Treat". They wear masks to protect themselves, every Halloween night the neighborhood tries so hard to stop them from their trickery, but they get past every trap set for them without a sweat. Ruth simply acts all sweet towards the victim before Arcane jumps out and steals the candy as they run off into the night leaving frightened trick-or-treaters behind them. They've been chased down by angry children and parents numerous times, but they get over it. It's all worth it for the sweet candy and the great bond along the way.

Arcane and Ruth have known each other since childhood, so you can't really blame them for being great buddies. What is their life outside of thievery and Halloween? They're simple students at a local high school, Arcane the literature club president always bringing sweets, and Ruth is one of those Drama Kids who always takes theater. They have pets as accomplices, a blue panther chameleon and an iguana. The chameleon is Ruth’s, bearing the name Jolly Rancher and the iguana belongs to Arcane with the name of Warhead.


The pair were running to school, an exertive Ruth wearing a bomber jacket with jean shorts, a cat shirt, converse and crew socks that are purposefully mixed up, with a punk rock band tee, leather jacket, ripped black skinny jeans with combat boots clad Arcane. They missed the bus by about 10 minutes and their parents were already at work. Thursday is the worst, you don’t feel like it.

Ruth was huffing, “I swear, if we don’t, make it, I’m punching you.”

Arcane snorted in response and his boots beat harder as he ran in front of the Angry orange haired skeleton patterned dog. She screeched and they ran inside just as the bus got there. They were the third to last stop the bus makes, so it was always a small time difference. Arcane panting with Ruth following walked inside. Some of the more popular girls were laughing with their ribboned pigtails and bright clothing. The weather was getting colder so they were wearing soft boots, the ones they all have the same pair of. Those ones.

Arcane bit his tongue, keeping himself from the rude remark he wanted to make but Ruth started to laugh and doubled over, wheezing from the lack of oxygen. She straightened up after catching her breath, and started, “Okay-” before Arcane pulled her to class.

She began to grumble but stopped once the bell rang and they took their seats at the back of the class for science to begin, they were only interested because they were going to be playing with candy as a lab project, taffy to be specific. They were going to test the limits of everything about it. Stretching, rolling it out to make it stretch, how long you can make it.

Of course, Ruth and Arcane immediately went to each other as partners, following the instructions for the project and taking as many notes as possible. The rest of the day went worse as they had less interest in their tasks. Ruth fell asleep during math, and Arcane had to cover for her.

After school though, they immediately went to Arcane’s to ‘work on a project,’ but they were really dressing up their pets, having a tea party, and eating candy. The two best friends are inseparable for life, and never leave the other’s side. Even if they do get someone to love, they always have time for the other.

Extras:
They have plushies from when they were little and still have tea parties with them and their pets
They make up ridiculous stories when people theorize who the thieves are
Ruth will freak out if anything goes wrong and Arcane has to calm her

I've had so much fun working on these kids <3 The website was a blast to put together and gave me a reason to eat cookies and make jokes

Gotta agree with Shrimp these were SUPER fun to make and we may have done more extra's than expected but each extra was equally really fun to do! It was probably the only fun group project I've ever done, and just adding onto these babs and their personalities and such I think really showed the best in both Shrimp and I's talent!

(dont heckin steal the ideas we spent a good while making this up
but like I guess similar but not exactly the same is fine)

Lol I spent hours in making the art and an hour into coding, plus some good time making my part of the story and editing, thanks dudes for understanding, please don’t copy in any way shape or form <3
