WHAT IS A YAEKO?

A Yaeko [yay·kho] (plural: "Yaeki") is a creature from outer space who has somehow found its way into the ecosystem on planet Earth. Roughly the size of a Great Dane, these oddities have long and powerful hind legs enabling them of bipedal movement over short periods of time. Their front legs - structured more like arms - possess three long claws as well as a "thumb" claw. These claws are surprisingly flexible, leading some to believe they may be used as fingers. Yaeki have been observed using these claws to crack open nuts, spear fish and cut open fruits - some even using them to pick locks and open doors. Their heads are encased in a thick layer of "ivory" which works as a protective helmet for their otherwise very sensitive heads. Yaeki communicate through a series of chirps, similar to those of a bird, although domesticated Yaeki may attempt to mimick human speech in the same manner a parrot would. They are intelligent and curious creatures - behaving much like an average toddler - and possess a strong will to learn and please their owners.

The most fascinating aspect of a Yaeko's anatomy is the transparent "dome" attached to their chest. The dome itself appears to be made of some sort of glass-like material. The contents of this dome are unknown, but it appears to contain some sort of colourful liquid or mist. Floating around in the strange substance is a charm. Every Yaeko has their own unique charm used for identification - and surprisingly, keeping nightmares at bay. People with a Yaeko in their household report having fewer nightmares than people who don't. This leads to speculation that Yaeki "trap" good dreams in their domes for safekeeping so their owners may have the same good dreams over again.

Prompt: Where do they come from?
If you asked this Yaeko where it came from it wouldn’t know,
that memory long being since forgotten. If you asked the
natives of earth they would say from some untraceable place
nestled in the stars. In reality they originated on a planet
in a grey dimension, in said dimensions the line between
what is possible and what is impossible is near non-existence.

That’s what made them so appealing to the makers, an
unknown creature who thrives on the magical energy.
In their search for a new planet their sights set on the
planet earth, perfect for their diverse race of individuals,
but there was one problem a lack of the energy they draw
their power from.

They realized they would never be able to win a flat out
war on this planet without their magic, so the tore
through worlds and galaxies until they happened upon
the peaceful home of the Yaeki. They kidnapped countless
individuals forcing them into holding cells barely large
enough for them to stand in.

That’s when the experiments began, tests after tests
to measure the limits and power of the new creatures
they’d stumbled upon. When the makers weeded out
the most powerful individuals they took samples to
determine their sources of power.

To the makers delight the yaeki were like batteries
creating and discharging the magical energy
they needed so desperately to win a war.
They constructed a plan to create yaeki that had a
much higher magical potential and release them
onto earth after fabricating memories for them.
One of their favored creations was a female with
a few excess limbs named Aerwyna.

Prompt: Emi comes from a Candy land located in space called Lakrids. A planet made out of Liquid Licorice and stabalized by the gravity of space. He tends to eat Lakrids actually, but it just replenishes itself the next day.
Extra: Emi tends to be a stress eater, hence him eating Lakrids often. Emi was born at Lakrids and tends to stay there as long as there's a food source. The native fish there (the only fish that ISN'T made of candy.), the Laks, is a stable type of fish that has naturally learned to adapt to not having a stable source of air, and closely related to the Salmon; Is Emi's favorite food. He Tends to eat them when Lakrids is getting smaller. He's a sweet, outgoing Yaeko. But he's very shy towards new friends and tends to hide from responsibility.

Now where would such a lovely cute creature like this come from? She comes from a lab if honest. She was a large experiment that all the scientists were excited about...luckily the little Gal escaped and was running loose for a bit until someone caught her and calmed her and made her more tame. Once she was restored to health she became a glorious creature and friendly at that! Giving many loves and snuggles and now his looking for a forever home <3
