WHAT IS A YAEKO?

A Yaeko [yay·kho] (plural: "Yaeki") is a creature from outer space who has somehow found its way into the ecosystem on planet Earth. Roughly the size of a Great Dane, these oddities have long and powerful hind legs enabling them of bipedal movement over short periods of time. Their front legs - structured more like arms - possess three long claws as well as a "thumb" claw. These claws are surprisingly flexible, leading some to believe they may be used as fingers. Yaeki have been observed using these claws to crack open nuts, spear fish and cut open fruits - some even using them to pick locks and open doors. Their heads are encased in a thick layer of "ivory" which works as a protective helmet for their otherwise very sensitive heads. Yaeki communicate through a series of chirps, similar to those of a bird, although domesticated Yaeki may attempt to mimick human speech in the same manner a parrot would. They are intelligent and curious creatures - behaving much like an average toddler - and possess a strong will to learn and please their owners.

The most fascinating aspect of a Yaeko's anatomy is the transparent "dome" attached to their chest. The dome itself appears to be made of some sort of glass-like material. The contents of this dome are unknown, but it appears to contain some sort of colourful liquid or mist. Floating around in the strange substance is a charm. Every Yaeko has their own unique charm used for identification - and surprisingly, keeping nightmares at bay. People with a Yaeko in their household report having fewer nightmares than people who don't. This leads to speculation that Yaeki "trap" good dreams in their domes for safekeeping so their owners may have the same good dreams over again.

Hooray for the first legendary! <3 I had a lot - and I mean, a LOT - of fun making this guy (...these guys?) and I hope you'll like him (or them?) too! I was, in fact, so excited to post him that I stayed up late - IT MIGHT NOT BE SATURDAY FOR YOU YET BUT IT IS IN SWITZERLAND, YO. Just 30 minutes after midnight. This is to celebrate hitting the first thousand views on the thread, and more releases like this one are planned for different occasions.

Instead of blood, this one appears it have tree sap flowing inside of them - I'm not sure how that's supposed to work, but since he lives, I suppose it's not an issue...? The head to the far left seems to have been damaged, constantly leaking boiling tree sap. It appears to have affected its eye color too. The skin of this Yaeko is very warm to the touch; he'd do an outstanding job as a hot-water bottle of sorts- that is, if you'd trust him enough to do that. I'm not sure I would. That one head looks mean and nasty.

To win, tell me how he lost half of his ear. Additionally, you're allowed one extra of your choice (a piece of art, an additional short story etc) - it's not required, but will definitely boost your chances of winning.
Note: with name and personality you can either refer to him as a whole, or three separate beings merged into one. If you want one of the heads to think of themselves as feminine, go for it. It won't affect the judgement.

Naharai
There’s more than meets the eye when it comes to Naharai, but the fact he’s thievish and sadistic is just the tip of the iceberg. That’s without even mentioning he’s also imprudent, obsessive and demanding, but at the very least he is countered somewhat by being patient as well. Even the best intentions have been soured because of this and his venomous nature. He does have some redeeming qualities though, such as his insightfulness and courageousness to name a few.

Alvan
Looks can be deceiving when it comes to Alvan...but that could just be because of his attached heads. He is known for being decisive and imaginative. Of course he is also independent, dutiful and kind. He is pretty much known for his happiness and his decisive nature, making it easy for friends to count on that and his flexibility when they need his help. Of course nobody is perfect and he gets rotten days too but his imagination helps prevent too much grief and bitterness.

Dovev
A lot can be said of Dovev as he is rather empathetic and quiet. But just because he is quiet and neutral doesn’t mean he isn’t punctual, reliable and perceptive. Unfortunately they can be tainted with his mixed habits of being a Smidge scornful. He has plenty of rainy days and can be rather unfriendly if he doesn’t feel quite right, of course, making things uncomfortable to say the least. In the end though he keeps to himself most of the time and watches everything.

How did he lose his ear?
This is a funny story. I mean...not funny ha ha but I think you get the idea. Let’s just begin with saying the happiest head there wasn’t all too happy. I mean you wouldn’t be either when someone gobbles up your warm fries. That’s basically what occurred with poor Alvan. He was being fed fries as a treat when Naharai butted his head in and finished them off. Alvan got mad enough that he chomped down on Naharais ear, practically taking the chunk out of it. Not only did Naharai learn a lesson that day...but quiet little Dovev is now mortified and afraid of both of them. Good job guys.

Feliks:
Feliks is the left head, and the one missing a chunk of his ear. Feliks is very aggressive, loving to spit the hot, toxic sap that leaks out of his mouth. Gavriil and Ivan dislike his actions and how he acts, but have to deal with him nonetheless. Feliks likes violence, meat, and coffee. He likes violence because it gives him an adrenaline high, and he just enjoys it. He likes meat because it tastes incredibly good to him. He likes coffee because it keeps him awake, and allows him to become "hyper." Feliks dislikes vegetables, pacifists, and being attached to Gavriil and Ivan. He dislikes vegetables because they taste absolutely disgusting to him. He dislikes pacifists for obviously reasons. He dislikes being connected to his brothers because the two don't like him as much as each other.

Gavriil:
Gavriil is the middle head. He's a little... Unintelligent, to say the least. He's the weakest, and most innocent of the three. Gavriil doesn't fear Feliks, but he doesn't like him. Gavriil yells a lot, partially due to the fact that he's hard of hearing. He has excellent eye sight, though. Gavriil likes animals (cats are his favourite), cheese, and movies. He likes animals because he thinks they're cute. He likes cheese because he loves the taste. Sometimes you can find him eating it straight out of the bag at 3am... He likes movies because it catches his short attention span. Gavriil dislikes violence, flavored water, and spicy food. He dislikes violence because Feliks does too much of it. He isn't a pacifist, however he's sick of seeing Feliks' unnecessary violent acts. He dislikes flavored water because it tastes nasty to him, primarily the citrus variants. He dislikes spicy food because it makes him sick, and just feel bad in general.

Ivan:
Ivan is the right head. He is very shy, and rarely speaks. He fears Feliks, and has reason to. Ivan is incredibly glad that Gavriil is in between him and Feliks. He feels that if Gavriil were not there, he would possibly be killed by Feliks. Ivan likes snow, spicy foods, and pumpkin flavored things. He likes snow because he thinks it is beautiful, and loves playing in it and burying his head in it. He likes spicy foods because he loves the flavor, and the "pain" senation it brings. He likes pumpkin flavored things because they taste good to him, and it comes around during his favourite season. Ivan dislikes Feliks, sweet foods, and reading. He dislikes Feliks because he fears him, and is a pacifist aka he doesn't believe in violence. He dislikes sweet foods because he doesn't like the taste they have. He dislikes reading because he believes it is boring and useless.

How did he lose his ear? Gavriil let out a disgusted huff as him and Ivan finally managed to pin their violent brother, Feliks. Feliks had been arguing with them all day, instead of just going along with them and agreeing as usual. Gavriil had a tight grip of Feliks ear. Feliks eventually tired of being held down, and jerked his head away. It resulted in a chunk of his ear being torn off, but he didn't even care. He was just glad he overpowered both of his brothers and got away. Disgusted and surprised, Gavriil dropped the ear chunk. "Ew! You fool, why did you do that?!" He exclaimed. "You will not overpower me. I shall never let you." Feliks said angrily. Ivan cowered in fear behind Gavriil, knowing Feliks was angry. Gavriil sighed, tired of Feliks' wrongdoings. "Whatever. Just come on, you nasty idiot." The three continued on, Feliks' drool trail being left behind as they walk.

Left - Ild is a prankster. He usually pranks the other two ut Spark doesn't really react to it. However Ild loves Ruk's reactions, therefor he continues to prank him. Good and evil pranks
Middle - Spark is like the father of the 3. The glue that sticks them together. He feels like he needs to be the mature one (And he sure is) However, sometimes he is so done with his 2 "chrildren" as he calls them.
Right - Ruk is a scaredy cat. He always fall for Ild's pranks and goes to Spark for comfort. But beneath all the reactions and scared moments, he deeply cares about his two brothers

How did he lose his ear?
Ild lost his ear in a stupid way. Ild was pranking Ruk once again but this time the plan backfired.
Spark caught Ild and decided to give a little bit of his own medicine.
However, things went wrong and Spark accidentally tore of Ild's ear.
