Ive decided to readopt this bean.
to win them tell me what they do with their life.
do they stay with their parents or do they leave home?
do they stay in contact with their family?

Father: Coal
Coal is an engineer on a rust bucket of a spaceship. he keeps things running below deck.
hes a strict parent and doesn't take attitude from anyone. he often tries to hard to please everyone and constantly hurts himself at work usually by accident. he gets annoyed by maya all the time but she just never listens to anything he says.

Mother: Mayamiko
she was picked up by coals crew on an emergency stop on a jungle planet. after the ship malfunctioned and forced them to land for repairs.
she was discovered while some of them explored the surrounding jungle for supplies, and decided to start fallowing coal around proclaiming they are bonded. much to his dismay.
shes the fun parent, she loves to play and will never ask you to do anything.

shes a rather clingy starshine, she doesn't like being left alone and tends to be hard to lose. she especially loves to physically cling onto your side like a love-starved leach.
her old home didn't really have any kind of tech what so ever. it was a very Aztec styled city, she was even used to gathering her own food and walking everywhere! because of this, she is endlessly curious about the ship she is now on with coal. she bugs him constantly about what this and that thing is.

Sister: Velvet
Velvet is the easily annoyed older sister, she doesn't like hanging out very often and doesn't seem to show any kind of attachment at times. she gets into fights with Coal all the time which often ends with her in her room crying over nothing.
she seems to have no plans to leave the ship.

Okoi had a bit of a rocky
relationship with their parents
growing up. With their father
being an engineer, their mother
being a clingy rock in Coal's
side, and all in all, not growing
up with a lot to look up to,
Okoi partially raised themselves.
They knew from a very young
age they wanted to escape this
life, and made it a personal
goal to get out as soon as possible.

When Okoi turned of age,
they formed their charm
in a fever dream. They awoke
to find it being a feather; the
sign of freedom, a chance to
spread their wings and fly. Okoi
took that as a sign and, without
thinking, got on the first ship
outta their city and never
turned back, without so
much as a goodbye to their
parents.

Life was rough for Okoi
starting out. On a ship in
a strange universe with
not even a single penny
to their name meant they
had to work or steal.
They stole a stun gun, a few
exploration supplies,
and some food rations from
the ship they were on, and
escaped in the dark of night
after the ship docked at a
remote planet.

The planet was rough and
untamed, and Okoi to this day
isn't sure how the heck they
didn't die at the hands of the
wild creatures on the planet.
However, Okoi acted on their
instincts, and through this,
they learned they could handle
their own. Okoi learned to
love the thrill of danger, and
they loved the thrill of living
out on their own in the wild.

Okoi now seeks thrills in the
form of treasure hunting,
spelunking, and exploring
uncharted planets. Occasionally,
they think about writing home.
However, they aren't quite sure
what to say to them, and they
aren't sure their family even
misses them.

About
Okoi is an intergalactic adventurer that got their start
due to a rough childhood. Their parents weren't exactly
the perfect match for one another, and Okoi didn't get
a lot of attention as a child, though that isn't the only
reason for who they are today. Okoi tends to put
themselves first; and for good reason, they had to take
care of themselves as a child! Their older sibling was
far too busy in their own world to pay attention to them.

However, Okoi holds no ill feelings for their family, and
often wonders about them to this day. Okoi finds a special
joy in their life exploring, fighting for their life, and roughing
it out in the rough wilds of the galaxy. They love finding new
things to explore. They admittedly love the glory they get
from uncovering new relics. They love dodging arrows,
nearly getting scorched, and the thrill of near-death experiences!

Okoi lives their life to their own fullest, and has no plans to ever
stop doing what they're doing.

A Chance Meeting
Okoi was staking out on a military airship, thinking nothing of the
fact that they would certainly be in big trouble if they got caught;
and caught they got, as a very angry grey and white Starshine stared
them down. She sported long, silvery hair, a blue hood, and a grumpy glare.

"Just who do you think you are?!" She demanded, pulling them
out of their hiding spot, throwing them on the floor. Okoi rolled
out, lowering themselves defensively. However, they weren't angry;
they knew that what they were doing was wrong.

"My name is Okoi, and I was trying to get some transport to Planet
C-R43, ma'am." They spoke respectfully, not wanting to get in a fight
with this Starshine that looked like she could probably deck him in two
seconds flat.

"Okoi? What an odd name. You know you're on a highly secret mercenary
airship, right?" She asked, glaring down at them. "You could be killed merely
for being here."

"I know, and if you decide to kill me, I understand." Okoi sighed. "However,
I do have some things that might be of interest to you! I've been all over the
galaxy; I have relics you wouldn't dream of."

"Son, we don't care about anything like that. We're hired to do our jobs. We
don't care about relics."

"Even...uh...these?" Okoi spilled out a few spare things; including a rusted sniper rifle.
This seemed to catch her attention, and the Starshine picked up the rifle, looking it
over.

"Where did you get this?" She inquired.

"I uh....infiltrated someone's mansion? It looked like it was valuable, so...."

"This is.....never mind. It's not important." She kept a paw on it though.

"If it's not important, could I have it back, then?" Okoi asked.

"No, I'll be keeping this...however, if you're going to stay here, you need to lay lower."

"So you'll help me then?"

"Yes, but only because you have my old sniper rifle." The Starshine scoffed,
moving them over to their hiding spot and throwing a tarp over them.

"There. Now you won't be seen as much. Just...stay quiet, alright?"

"Alright! Uh, thank you!!"

Maya joked that her youngest daughter was born with a wrench in her mouth.

Ari idolized her father from a young age, watching him work on his ship with almost the same fixation as her mother Mayamiko. As soon as she was old enough, Coal took her down into the ship’s engine to show her around. She gaped at everything she could find, wide-eyed and impressed by the interlocking machinery.

Under her father’s strict rules and skilled training, Ari was raised as an engineer to follow in his pawsteps. She quickly grew tired of her old, rusty family spaceship, fearing its safety issues. On top of that, she fell away from Mayamiko, disliking her constant clinginess to her and her father. Paradoxially, it was her clinginess that made her want to leave.

On the next planet they stopped on, Ari packed a bag of essentials and left, with only a note to her family.

As far as she could tell, the planet was very dry and dusty, with large buildings carved of stone. In fact, stone seemed to make up everything she could see. Even worse, there were no spaceships or machinery to get a job with.

Ari struggled between jobs, unable to work on her passion. The sand dulled her coat and her sparkling markings, and she’d swear it even got in her food.

Through her struggling, she finally reached the age to form her charm. To her surprise, it was in the shape of a feather, much like her mother’s. Ari took it as a sign to track down her family, no matter how hard it ended up being.

That night, she wove her own accessory out of her memory of her father’s. Though she couldn’t quite remember the pattern on his bandanna, she remembered the two red lines, and painted them on her own. Calmed by the thought she would see her parents again, she curled up with her accessory, smiling for the first time since she arrived on the planet.
