● Cato- latin name, means "intelligent and all-knowing"
● Obscurior- comes from "Pulchriores obscurior;" a translation of "darker darker"
● Scutters- a name given to his family hundreds of generations ago for their suspicious behaviour of always scuttering about.

Personality:
Cato's cunning and clever. He knows how to survive in his city's harsh conditions. He uses trickery to get food and other items. He appears to be mean and tough, but he actually isn't. He's a softie who just wants to go back to his previous lifestyle. Thanks to his misfortune Cato found sympathy for the poor, something he lacked before. Cato was used to having lots of rich friends, but now he's almost always alone, and he gets very lonely because of this. He won't think twice and he'll jump at any opportunity he can get, even if the odds seem stacked against him.

History:
Cato used to live in what was a rich empire. He was part of the upper class citizens who were known for their glorious feasts and long parties. However the empire fell in the middle of a war, leaving behind uninhabitable areas and countless citizens dead or homeless. Cato fortunately survived, but as a result he was suddenly thrown from his rich, easy-going lifestyle to being forced to act like a stray on the streets, stealing and using his clever mind in order to survive another day. He hopes that one day his city will recover and that he'll be able to return to his old lifestyle somehow.
