Who are they?:
There was a time when Juliette was a completely different person. She was sociable but quiet, never daring to push to far in her witty banter or occasional sassy remarks. She craved what others had, desired confidence and a talent for feats of daring. She was a high-class individual with the makings of pursuing a political career or at least marrying into one. But all that changed when the cautious girl's desire, her envy, grew too strong to resist. She was dazzled by a spectacle like she had never seen and offered a chance of a lifetime at a cost. Had she have thought better of her decision then, she would have grown into a different person now. But instead, she paid the heavy cost to fulfill her desire and with it grew into a vastly different individual. Her more cautious and reserved disposition has eroded away, she is more bold and dangerous. She throws caution to the wind as she had the night she made the deal. She gave away her freedom in a high class society for this life, striped of her title and chained to her agreement. But even with all of that, Juliette is satisfied with who she is, what she can do and the arrangement made. Some might pity her or think her foolish but, in truth, she's the one who pities them for she's found true liberation in giving up one freedom for another.(240 / 250 words)
What is their hidden talent?:
When Juliette was very young her parents made her take dancing lessons among numerous other classes. She was surprisingly good at dance, very balanced and poised but her lack of confidence kept her from doing anything more than keeping in step at social gatherings. While she didn't stick out during events or in front of others, in private she pushed her limits. Ever cautious, she was always wary to push too far but in testing her limits she found now only was she naturally well balance but she was also very limber and flexible. This knowledge peaked her curiosity as she continued to test the limitations of what she could do. As time went on her fascination with her own capabilities never ceased but with her parents filling her calendar with social events she was struggling to find the time to continue to build upon what little she knew she could do.
During a specifically interesting outing, she was taken to a carnival. This wasn't a typical carnival, the look of it was enough of an indicator. But that aside there were rumors floating around, no one seemed to trust the ringmaster nor this carnival itself. Still this didn't stop Juliette's curiosity. There was plenty here to be enamored with, unique individuals with skill or talent in spades. This realization both excited and upset her. Still she tried to enjoy the entertainment. Many of the other socialites that had come to see the show weren't enjoying it as much as she was but she hardly paid them any mind. During the performance some daring individuals came out to do tricks on the ground and in the air. The crowd would gasp and cheer. Juliette marveled at the performance before she felt that same jealousy rise up in her. Why couldn't she be like that? Fearless and bold, leaping out without fear and without a net to performance with the natural talents she had.
After the shows were over, everyone began to leave. Juliette leaving with her socialite friends and family. She had truly enjoyed what she had seen but all the same the experience had left her feeling hollow. She wanted more than anything to have the skill and confidence to make a real talent of her skills. She wanted it so bad she'd give anything for it. She was stopped by a stranger, recognizing him as the carnival's owner.
