Rowantail was born to be a Chief. He was always full of ambition and leadership with the other fledglings. Even before he was a hatchling he had wanted to be Chief. Rowantails father always told him to lower his standards and that he would be a Warrior just like all of his ancestors. These words did not dampen his spirit but erased all of the respect Rowantail had for his father.

History:
Rowantail had an average hatchling-hood. He had two parents who loved him and had his place in the tribe. But because of his ambition he didn't like this average life. He wanted danger, adventure and to become Chief. Rowantail was angry that his father didn't believe that he could do it and so he was thrilled when he did not have his father as one of his mentors.
As a fledgling, Rowantail was even more restless than as a hatchling. He wanted to do nothing more than climb the Peakless Moutain. His mentors didn't believe that he could become Chief either. So, determined to prove them wrong, Rowantail immediately began training harder and even leaving the burrow at night to practice. The burrow guards would watch him, applaud him and praise him for what he was doing. They told him that they would say to Willowfeather, the Chief at the time, that he was a fantastic canidate for Beta when he turned of-age.
As his seasons of training ended, Rowantail was made a Warrior and finally accepted into the tribe. This pleased him as he knew he was one step closer to becoming Chief.
Another seven seasons passed and he was proclaimed as a Gamma. Rowantail was smug and reminded his father who said that he would stay as a Warrior and nothing more. Then Willowfeather died and Birchtalon was next in line to become Chief. The guard known as Elmbeak knew that Birchtalon would drive them into corruption and hand their land over to the southern griffins so, the night that no one could speak, the night after Rowantail was named the new Beta, Elmbeak murdered Birchtalon, leaving Rowantail the position. Everybody saw and everybody except Rowantail knew. After his first moon of leadership and Elmbeaks first moon of being the new Beta, Elmbeak entered his underground den and told him what he had done. Rowantail forgave him, knowing that he did it for the tribe. The very next night, Elmbeak was murdered and found dead in his den.
Rowantail made everyone sit two nights of silence for the brave tercel as he was as close as Rowantail ever knew as a friend.
