this son lives with Bran
Upon Eumelia's return from her sudden absence, it was a surprise to see that only one cub followed the lioness. Donnett had predicted two. What happened to the other? Sure a lioness who so desperately wanted offspring wouldn't forfeit one? No, to her the child was dead. Her other son died soon after birth, and the lioness abandoned his body where she gave birth, returning to the Pride with only one cub.
However, the child was not dead. Not at all. Bran sensed it's tiny, fading life force and raced to it's aid. He knew instantly the child was his- as well as who the mother was. He grieved briefly for her leaving him, but he understood why. Only another life elemental would have been able to sense the child was not truly dead. The nomadic healer breathe life back into the days-old infant and took his son with him when he left.
In a turn of events both parents named the child they had after the other parent. During their time together, Eumelia always called Bran “the Sheep” And Bran in turn called her “the Wolf”. Thus, Bran named his son after a great and fierce wolf to give his son strength, and Melia named her son after the golden sheep of legend to honor The Sheep that blessed her with a child.
