june lifted her head, the sweet sounds of guitar strings being played from the distance. it filled her ears with loving tunes as she listened and slowly waved along to the music. this was one of the many times she has heard this sweet, mysterious music. the kalon lifted herself up out of her cramped nest. she was growing bigger and bigger and she couldnt stay there much longer. finally, she jumped. straight onto the rough ground. she glanced back up at the nest, smiling, then jumping off into the distance to hear that music once again. she ran and ran, not stopping, for this was her chance. june finally stopped on top of a hill. her heart pounding with anticipation. over the hill was a small village on a round island, surrounded by water. there was one of her kind strumming on the guitar. now this was the home she was looking for.

it was rough, being gay and suddenly alone in the world. she had no one and no where to stay. she felt as if she didn't have a place in the world anymore. it felt as if the whole universe had turned on her. (98 words)

Her heart hammered as she read the newspaper. Azure griffins were illegal to own. She had just received three azure griffin eggs. She'd have to give them up.

The hatchlings stood before her, chirping helplessly. She had procrastinated getting rid of them, and now they had hatched. After bonding with them, she couldn't bear to.

"Either you go, or the griffins," her father growled. She wept bitterly, then turned and left. She was on her own now, an outlaw caring for three illegal pets, with no home or source of income. She was terrified, yet excited for the future.
